I hate being mean and I wish it wasn't so effective of a tactic. But like the moment that I begrudgingly went vegan I realized that every counterargument is just obvious bullshit and it's an extremely simple black-and-white issue and the only reason I had ever entertained the notion that it was complex was motivated reasoning to avoid changing. I can't help but want to be nice about it and just be like, "Aww, check out this cute video of a cow that's friends with a dog!" And like it's so obvious watching that that killing one of those animals is just as wrong as killing the other animal. But I know that somehow the brainworms will find a way to get from point A to point B and in the process I'm probably going to end up get accused of, like, antisemitism or something, I don't even know.

I have nothing but respect for my less effectiveness-challenged comrades.

The issue isn't complicated; it's crystal clear, morally speaking. Even the fucking carnists know it, too - directly or subconsciously. That's why they're so pissed off by vegans themselves, they know they're in the wrong and they don't want to be reminded of it.
