“Republican vice presidential nominee, Sen. JD Vance said Wednesday that Haitian migrants with legal immigration status are “illegal aliens” who have been unlawfully protected from deportation, suggesting that would change if Trump wins the election.”

Articles like this remind me of how absolutely fucked we are if these assholes win.

He also said Haitian people are from “Haitia”.

He’s a dumbfuck racist.

Trump wants to deport them to Venezuela. And said no one really knows where they are all from.

Once again showing, for as huge a dumbass as JD is, Trump is dumber still.

I'm not even sure this is them being actually dumb, or if it's the case that they realised "Haitian" is just the perfect socially passable shorthand for "non-white" they've been looking for.

Reps, Senators, Supreme Court Justices, and anyone in a position that's in the chain of succession for the Presidency, should be required to pass the same test that immigrants take to become citizens. It wouldn't be perfect, but then at least we'd know for sure it's intentional malice and not just complete buffoonery.

Imagine having your own senator treat you like this

My fingers are crossed that he and Trump lose and the voters of Ohio turn on him, and then we never have to hear from him again.

TPS is a lawful status in federal law. But it's also not a regular immigration status that you'd get with an actual immigrant visa.

The idea is that TPS recipients are going to ship back out just as soon as Haiti (or wherever) gets its act together again. It's not a very secure status and does not lead to green cards or naturalization.

But the whole point is that they are here “legally”, so Vance is just telling more lies and is going to get people hurt or killed.
