Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

This means the real number is higher. People don't answer these things truthfully when they are about who they vote for, so they will definitely not say their true feelings about a murder.

Love how there's a visible bump in sympathy from elderly people who have had to deal with the healthcare system more due to getting old.

and these are the dorks who waste time to answer polls

[–] [email protected] 38 points 13 hours ago

Plus people who probably would shy away from saying they support it

I like that the title of the poll article is "Young Voters Diverge from Majority on Crypto, TikTok, and CEO Assassination". The three major issues of our age.

Love that the actual numbers are definitly higher, adjusting for people who are less willing to admit to approving of murder to a stranger

IDK, none of those people would say they found it "completely unacceptable" though. It seems worrying to me that the number of people who find it completely unacceptable outnumber those who find it even somewhat acceptable in every demographic except under 30s.

Some might've tbh. I think the older responders are more likely to think they're supposed to say "bad" too.

Any which way, I'm impressed to see this level of support for a CEO getting assassinated in the streets coming from most housebroken population on earth, especially after weeks of the media doing its best to scold people into thinking it's bad.

In person I’ve openly stated that Luigi is cool and everyone has said that while they agree they tell others he was the villain. They’re afraid of rubbing people the wrong way

[–] [email protected] 20 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

tell them they're rubbing you the wrong way

[–] [email protected] 20 points 13 hours ago

y'all are getting rubbed?

kinda ashamed of my demo that I'm such a small minority, but 50-59 is the lamest cohort.

Alternative view: that age group is the most paranoid giving answers to pollsters.

I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.

I see a lot of people willfully submitting themselves for reeducation with this answer.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

I'm just neutral. not my problem

[–] [email protected] 13 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

I love the consistent 20% neutral transcending age demographics. There’s just always a 20% of people who really dgaf

[–] [email protected] 11 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Forced re-education is the only fucking answer at this point
