Pretty designs on pots is what dragged me into this hobby

My child keeps murdering all my pets sounds terribly grim, though. My cat just won't stop biting my plants and knocking them over.

Kitty should be careful, one day the plant may just bite back!

but can plants have a little salami, as a treat?

First and foremost, I love your username

Secondly, yes, your pothos is cute

Does it have a name?

It's named Sam, after the person who recognized what kind of plant it was. Sam was a clipping from "Robert Plant," the office Pothos at my last cubiclefarm job that almost everybody had a clipping of.

Edit: thank you. Of all my Simpsons-themed alts, I think this is my favorite

At first I thought it said Porthos and I had to check I wasn't on the Star Trek instance

I want a pet (plant), but my child (cat) would eat it. I actually have a bit of a green thumb, so it kind of hurts.

Nice pothos! I have one that I've.managed to keep alive over ten years! I bought it on a beer run to the store to brighten up my shitty basement apartment and now it's hanging by the door in a macrame holder I made for it

In a sense. It's really there

Just wondering how it deals eating pothos leaves rather than eucalyptus. I'm sure it's doing fine. Lovely plant coming along nicely, too :)

How expensive are plants and their accessories? I know I might need specific soil, fertilizer(?) and obviously a pot, it seems like it could add up but I haven't actually figured out how much I'd spend.

Also how did you choose a species? With so many kinds of plants, it seems like it'd be really hard to choose.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago

Plants are cheap and easy, dirt is cheap (there's a reason for the phrase "dirt cheap"), and you don't really need fertilizer 99% of the time and if you do want to use some it's cheap too.

Plants literally grow themselves, easiest shit in the world

Most expensive part is the pots, if you go for pretty designs. You can propagate clippings from existing plants if you can find a donor. I like checking in on a living thing every day, it's nurturing

Also, I looked up lists of easy to care for house plants and picked the ones that met my needs and looked neat

How's your pothos? She looks very healthy!

Mine grew so much this year, it's taken over half my bedroom.
