I keep seeing this, but never seeing a source cited. Not saying I don't believe it, but I would need a source there.

Hostages without an option to return them are pretty useless

I don't have any sources for the claim, but the fact that the hostages they released so far were released through Egypt and Qatar should tell you everything you need to know about Israel's willingness to negotiate
