My father and I both got laid off over the summer and are still jobless. My arthritic, immunocompromised, cancer survivor mother would be destitute if not for a family friend paying her bills. My brother is perpetually freelancing because he can't find a solid gig despite having a great portfolio of work. My sister is the only one out of five immediate family members with a full time job, and the company has been going on a layoff spree.
