Not at all, appreciated in fact!

I actually entirely missed that they were a woman, sorry. I missed that one word when I read through it. Obviously I didn’t mean it in that way, but I understand the term can have that charged meaning when referring to women specifically. Which wasn’t the intended effect. I’ll edit the original post accordingly. Thank you for pointing out my mistake.

Everything else basically stands though.

Sorry I’m not sure where the misogynist bit comes in? I may have missed something though, so I am happy to correct myself if I did.

We have a pretty large volume of “study abroad students” that just come here to treat the country as their personal party and holiday for six months. Not everyone, but the ones who don’t rarely feel the need to point out that they did a study abroad.

“Studied abroad in Japan”.

read: “I spent half a year in Japan doing shit all and consider myself an expert now. I consider ichiran the best ramen shop in the world. “

I know exactly the type, they’re the vast majority of people coming here. They all have this same exact insufferable liberal mindset too, like visiting Japan makes them so fucking worldly.

Edit: editted for content.

Apparently he’s a libertarian, which isn’t remotely surprising.

It turns out all you need to do to totally whitewash your legacy is volunteer building homeless shelters after you’re out of office.

Forget the fact that this was the most powerful man in the country who maybe could have done something a tiny bit more impactful about homelessness while he was in office if he actually cared. No, it’s all okay because he volunteers. East Timor? But look at this house!

If an average person helps build a house, it is commendable. Though it is still a massive failing of the government that it was necessary. An ex-president doing it is just trying to assuage their guilt at best.

Oh good, the NAFO folks are going to get stuck in a logic loop now. NAFO must be infilitrated by Russian agents so NAFO needs to get together to put a stop to NAFO.

Maybe we can get shibas back sometime soon.

"made it clear that they will not endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for the US presidency, but more importantly, that they discourage any moves that could lead to a second Trump administration - namely voting for a third party candidate. "

So they don't endorse Harris BUT here is the standard Democrat template line that the greatest threat to our democracy is so you better not vote third party!

Which leaves them with...a tacit endorsement of Harris. How the hell are you going to try to campaign to "push the candidate left" when you already just admitted you are voting for them no matter what.

Honestly even if China DID just randomly decide to invade Russia for no apparent reason, it wouldn't cause WW3. Every western imperialist would be having the party of their life while they let them fight it out. They would be fucking thrilled, nobody would dare get involved to the point it would become a world war. They'd have massive balkanization parties where they figured out who would get which piece of each country.

Of course, the chances of that happening are about as likely as the US withdrawing all their occupation forces from bases around the world.

What is far more likely to cause WW3 is probably the "country" bombing other countries, staging a yet ongoing genocide, and assassination foreign leaders extra-judicially.

Iran has some of the most sophisticated missile systems out there. Defense systems are alway playing catchup, so I do not doubt that they could easily overwhelm "Israel's" countermeasures. They could probably level everything if they wanted to, but seem to be focused on solely military targets for the time being.

Could they be inflating their numbers to make themselves look better? Yes probably, most every government would do the same and I am sure anywhere there is a range of damage they are going to err on the high side of their estimates. But it isn't a stretch to assume that a country that has basically built their entire defensive doctrine around the ability to missile strike anywhere with extreme efficacy is able to do exactly that. This is basically Iran's area of expertise.

They just want to try to justify a nuclear first strike by painting a scenario where Russia would not retaliate.

If I found out tomorrow they were actually just nihilists that wanted nuclear war to end all human life on Earth, it would make more sense to me.

  1. They are trying to say he is bad and unamerican because communism is bad and unamerican. He is bad, but he is probably the most USian person I can think of. Man is basically a walking US cliche.

  2. They are trying to imply he is a Russian asset and think Russia is still a communist country. It is unbelievable how many people make that mistake. McCarthy would be proud.

That is really all I have to say, but Astrobot is just one of the most delightful games I have played in years. Nothing deep or life-changing, just pure simple fun. Very much in the Nintendo school of design philosophy, but I enjoy it more than anything Nintendo has put out recently.

Looks visually great, fantastic music, and a lot of interesting mechanics that never overstay their welcome. They are still the only studio who has really leveraged all the PS5 haptics well too. My partner won't let me play it by myself because she just enjoys watching it that much.

Basically, if you have a PS5 I strongly recommend it.
