only thing that i can think off is that your ra install could be out of date? this sounds like some old ra bugs?

Just use Prism Launcher, makes modpacks as easy to install as vanilla.

There are mods that only need to run on the server. For a good example, see young's mods or terralith, both of which you can just run on a fabric server while vanilla clients can join just fine. That way quite a few of nice features can be added to the game.

The magic of fabric optimisation mods, this thing probably runs smoother than vanilla.
