Russia is increasing defenses around the Kursk frontline to stall out or stop the Ukrainian advance, but they are in no hurry to retake the territory right away. Don't interrupt your enemy while he's making a mistake.

The more important part that the mainstream media at large is ignoring, is that Russia has been able to make very significant advances towards Pokrovsk, a central logistics hub for Ukraine in the Donbas region, where several supply lines lead through, and which seems to be the ultimate goal beyond Bakhmut and Avdiivka. Contrary to what the average Westener may think, the frontline there is anything but stagnant right now.

If they are able to capture that town, they may be able to split the Ukrainian forces in the Donbas in half, which in turn may lead to a collapse of the Ukranian front in the east.

I just had an epiphany: This Kursk offensive is the exact reason Zaluzhny was kicked out and replaced with Syrsky back in February!

Zaluzhny would never agree to such a harebrained waste of troops and resources, but Syrsky, the butcher of Bakhmut, who tried to hold onto that city for no gain whatsoever and doesn't give a rats ass about Ukrainian lives, certainly would.

Sacrificing thousands of reserve troops and assorted (Western) equipment just to retrieve a couple Nazis doesn't seem like a sensible trade to me.

Yeah it's kind of funny how the petition is called "Stop killing games" yet people (not Ross in this case, but the author of the meme for instance) are completely fine with killing live service games.

Like it or not, millions of people enjoy these kinds of games, and specifically the ever-changing aspect (be it in Splatoon, TF2, Sea of Thieves...), so saying that it's "wrong" to like these kinds of games reeks of the usual, chud-adjacent gamer elitisms (like with PC master race, "mobile games aren't real games", etc.)

Yeah this is why I kinda can't take the whole thing very seriously.

As soon as a game updates, the original experience is gone. For certain multiplayer games, once people lose interest, you'll likely struggle to find players, and the ones you do find are likely already experts at the game rather than noobs, so you don't get the same experience as when the game released.

Multiplayer games are by their nature a very time limited thing. I can't really go back to Quake 3 and experience the game the way it was played in the early 2000s. That culture is permanently gone, no matter whether you can host your own server or not.

Ukraine failed to take Sudzha, and is now actively being pushed out of Kursk.

So ultimately, all they got were a bunch of villages, just like with last year's epic counteroffensive.

I don't know why anyone was even dooming over this.

Yeah PatricianTV.

He also did a bunch of streams of him watching other people's Skyrim retrospectives and reviews, and most of those were pretty terrible.

I feel like the turnaround coincided perfectly with the 8 hour Morrowind essay guy shitting on Skyrim for 20 hours straight in 2022, and suddenly everyone agreed with him, doubly so after Starfield came out.

I want Kamala to win and for the Democrats to win a Manchin/Sinema proof supermajority just so that they have no scapegoats when things inevitably turn to shit in regards to the climate, the environment, the economy, foreign wars, etc.

So the libs currently seem to be in some state of coconut induced ecstasy because they think that, because Kamala (or whoever they pick) isn't as old as Donald, that they have it in the bag.

These are the same people who spent over a year posting about how Trump was definitely done for and was gonna get locked up in prison, only to be hit by the biggest "Ah! Well, nevertheless" yet.
