Johannesburg — Kenya's National Police said Monday they had arrested a 33-year-old man whom they called a "psychopathic serial killer with no respect for human life." They said the suspect, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, had admitted to murdering 42 women, including his wife, whom they say he acknowledged as his first victim.

Mohammed Amin, chief of Kenya's national Directorate of Criminal Investigations, said Khalusha had murdered some victims as recently as just four days prior to his arrest, but that his alleged killing spree began in 2022.

Amin made the statement during a news conference at DCI headquarters in Nairobi on Monday, and his remarks were also shared by the agency in a series of social media posts, which included a photo of Khalusha in custody.

The police said they had been tracking Jumaisha's cell phone signal.

"It is the transaction of mobile money transfer using Josphine Owino's phone number that led detectives to tracking the suspect," Amin said, referring to one of the victims.

Khalusha was arrested early Monday morning outside a club where he had gone to watch Sunday's European soccer championship final. The police said that after he was arrested, Khalusha confessed to "having lured, killed and disposed of 42 female bodies," including that of his wife and Owino.

The suspect lived in a one room rented house just 300 feet from the Kware dump, an abandoned quarry now filled with garbage, where the remains of some of the victims had been found earlier, the police said.

Khalusha was allegedly working to lure another victim, a woman police identified only as Susan, when he was arrested.

"We have a second suspect who was caught with one of the handsets from one of the victims," added Amin, without providing any further information on the second suspect's identity or how they were believed to be connected to the murders.

At the news conference, police displayed a number of items they said had been found in Khalusha's possession, including 10 cell phones and 24 SIM cards, six ID cards for men and two ID cards for women, one pair of rubber gloves, 12 nylon sacks, ropes, gloves and a machete, which police believe was used to dismember some of the victims.

Officials started discovering the mutilated remains of women between the ages of 18 and 30 stuffed into sacks last week near the Kware dump, prompting locals and police to speculate about whether there could be a cult or a serial killer operating in the area.

A man who killed two Alaska Native women and was heard in a video of the torture death of one of them saying that in his movies "everybody always dies" was sentenced Friday to 226 years in prison.

Brian Steven Smith received 99-year sentences each for the deaths of Kathleen Henry, 30, and Veronica Abouchuk, who was 52 when her family reported her missing in February 2019, seven months after they last saw her.

"Both were treated about as horribly as a person can be treated," Alaska Superior Court Judge Kevin Saxby said when imposing the sentence.

"It's the stuff of nightmares," Saxby said.

The remaining 28 years were for other charges, like sexual assault and tampering with evidence. Alaska does not have the death penalty.

Two of the jurors attended the sentencing, the Anchorage Daily News reported, and one of them said the sentence was justified.

"It was the law being executed to the letter," juror Michael Stewart said.

Smith, a native of South Africa who became a naturalized U.S. citizen shortly before torturing and killing Henry at an Anchorage hotel in September 2019, showed no emotion during sentencing.

...

Smith was arrested in 2019 when a sex worker stole his cell phone from his truck and found the gruesome footage of Henry's torture and murder. The images were eventually copied onto a memory card, and she turned it over to the police.

Smith eventually confessed to killing Henry and Abouchuk, whose body had been found earlier but was misidentified.

Both Alaska Native women were from small villages in western Alaska and experienced homelessness when living in Anchorage.

...

Videos from the memory card were shown during the trial to the jury but hidden from the gallery. Smith's face was never seen in the videos, but his distinctive South African accent - which police eventually recognized from previous encounters - was heard narrating as if there were an audience. On the tape, he repeatedly urged Henry to die as he beat and strangled her.

"In my movies, everybody always dies," the voice says in one video. "What are my followers going to think of me? People need to know when they are being serial-killed."

During the eight-hour videotaped police interrogation, Smith confessed to killing Abouchuk after picking her up in Anchorage when his wife was out of town. He took her to his home, and she refused when he asked her to shower because of an odor.

Smith said he became upset, retrieved a pistol from the garage and shot her in the head, dumping her body north of Anchorage. He told police the location, where authorities later found a skull with a bullet wound in it.

Elon Musk has suggested that the European Union attempted to coerce him with an underhanded deal to secretly implement censorship within his platform. Musk further added that EU-designed negotiations were accepted by other online platforms. However, he outrightly rejected the concealed deal.

On Friday, the EU made strides in evidencing the potency of its fresh Digital Services Act (DSA) by launching an attack on X, which is owned by Musk.

The group accused X of being in violation of specific EU regulations and threatened the platform with punitive fines. In response to this, Musk was quick to counter-attack by criticizing the DSA as a “canned misinformation” source. He further revealed that the EU had solicited a clandestine deal with him for entering into censorship pertaining to the EU’s directives.

In his revelation, Musk stated, “The European Commission offered [X] an illegal secret deal: if we quietly censored speech without telling anyone, they would not fine us.” He assured his stance by saying, “The other platforms accepted that deal,” however, he did not agree to participate. He also expressed his anticipations for the future, saying, “We look forward to a very public battle in court, so that the people of Europe can know the truth.”

The Secret Service blamed local police for failing to secure the rooftop from which gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump, insisting it was outside of the perimeter the federal agency was tasked with protecting.

Instead, securing and patrolling the factory grounds of AGR International Inc. — located about 130 yards from the stage where Trump was speaking Saturday — was the responsibility of local Pennsylvania police, Secret Service representative Anthony Gugliemi said, according the New York Times.

The Secret Service was only tasked with covering the grounds where Trump’s rally took place, with local police being recruited to assist with those efforts and secure the area outside of the rally.

A defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal is headed to trial after a Georgia judge ruled that Rachel Maddow, Nicolle Wallace, Chris Hayes and other journalists reported “verifiably false” claims about a doctor they said performed “mass hysterectomies” on ICE center detainees.

MSNBC and NBC journalists are accused of reporting 39 false claims about the doctor they called the “uterus collector” based on a whistleblower account from a nurse named Dawn Wooten who worked at the facility.

“NBC investigated the whistleblower letter’s accusations; that investigation did not corroborate the accusations and even undermined some; NBC republished the letter’s accusations anyway,” Judge Lisa Godbey Wood of the Southern District of Georgia wrote in a 108-page summary in June.

(TMX) – “Jackass” star Steve-O confirmed this week he is going to undergo breast augmentation for a laugh.

During an appearance on the “X5 Podcast” on Wednesday, the 50-year-old prankster said he’s been thinking about getting a pair of fake breasts for years.

“I came up with the idea a few years ago to get a boob job and just film a bunch of legitimately funny hidden camera pranks with me in disguise, in various disguises, and then revealing who I actually am, and just funny endurance stunts and whatever,” he said.

“I’ve been so particularly in love with that idea because the comedy, the opportunity for comedy, I believe is absolutely there, and it’s like the quintessential Steve-O — that level of commitment,” he said.

The augmentation will only be temporary, however. Steve-O said he would only have them for “max two months” before having them removed again.

“I spoke with the doctors, and I said to them candidly, ‘The one thing I’m really freaked out about and bummed out about and would back out of this over is if I’m just gonna be a mess afterwards,’” Steve-O said.

He confirmed he plans to get D-cup-size implants.

“You know, it’s going under the muscle, and the doctors are completely unfazed, like, ‘Two months, it comes out, absolutely no issue,’” he said.

Despite doing it all for a laugh, Steve-O said he is working with “the absolute best [doctor] in the world at giving men gorgeous boobs

France's radical left-wing coalition has vowed to bring in a 90 per cent tax rate on the rich following their shock election triumph on Sunday.

In a result that caught political commentators by surprise, the New Popular Front (NPF) emerged as the biggest party in the second round of the elections which ended in a deadlock, gaining 182 seats ahead of President Emmanuel Macron's centrist Ensemble party, on 168.

Marine Le Pen's populist right National Rally (RN), which won the first round of elections on June 30, performed poorly in the second round and only obtained 143 seats.

The NPF appears to be heading for a power struggle with President Macron - as he wants to be free to pick the next Prime Minister himself - against the backdrop of tensions and uncertainty in a country with a long history of political violence.

The NPF - a coalition put together just before the elections which include the socialists, the ecologists, the communists and the radical France Unbowed party - have not designated a candidate for French Prime Minister and the group's leaders met on Monday to try and agree upon who would be put forward for the job.

Manuel Bompard, coordinator of France Unbowed, said: 'We are preparing to govern, to apply the programme which is ours.'

The programme includes a 90 per cent tax rate on any annual income above €400,000, a reduction in the retirement age from 64 to 60, a block on the price of essential goods, a 14 per cent increase in minimum wage and spending commitments of at least €150 billion over three years.

They certainly are - I think I have struggled to some degree with reading the audience right at times. It is very natural to miss things that people even try to hide or are not conscious of.

OK, I see, I mean, I would defintely agree that it's always wrong to hit on your subordinates. I've never done it. I also think that it would be really bad to ever initiate physical contact - especially of a sensitive part of the body - and the wolf whistle is always wild, lol...

I've seen it happen, though, where the woman on the receiving end was delighted, so it has softened my heart to it, but I have never done it (and not just because I can't whistle).

I think this is the right answer, and very succinctly stated, thank you!

To be fair...

The autism rates are likely increasing because women give birth later and men sire children later, and also we now diagnose neuro divergence and high functioning autistics, but back in the day it was reserved for people who were in more extreme situations.

I am not a vaccine apologist or anything. The covid vaccine was bullshit.

But I think a lot of the standard vaccines are probably OK and went through completely different processes for approval.

It's highly editorialized, as it is designed to inform English speaking Catholics about the situation Orban faces, but where are the lies in terms of facts?

You just hate how it's couched and don't understand what critical reading and thinking are.

"Hate group" lol

It's a Catholic website, yeah. I liked the information they presented and the order they presented it in.

I put up all manner of news sites, including rather alternative and obscure ones.

I think it's good for a thinking brain to be exposed to perspectives they normally do not see.

It's actually really consistent and bold - it's also the least popular way to advance the movement because plenty of casually pro-life people would stop and go "Huh" if forced to think about their views and IVF.

It is perhaps a bit stupid but it has the same big dick energy of flying Palestinian flags at an unremarkable, modern, liberal Jewish synagogue - take the fight everywhere, all the time.

That's right - I was even listening to Timcast and he expressed his own skepticism towards the ability to save the economy.

Especially consider that the petrodollar is now broken - something that could really help the US economy recover in the long term.

The ability for us to combat this is weakening.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Yeah, I get your point, but... it is still acceptable to view humans as outside of the animal kingdom due to their exceptional nature, and it's a natural part in how we express ourselves in language.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

It's so weird because a better candidate would not only outperform him in the debate, but would just generally outshine him everywhere else and be electable...

Why, on earth, the Democrats decided to run elderly Joe in 2020 and barely win, and run him again during his great heatlh decline, is beyond me.... And why isnt' Biden stepping aside?

I don't understand any of it.

Imagine how much it promoted these bogus places - all these rich bitch mothers seeing Dr. Phil send some kid to an institution after a 2 minute video meant to shock the audience and 5 minutes of Dr Phil "helping" the kid by teasing out lurid details and throwing out a few aphorisms...

"We gotta send our son to that place..!"

Lots of damage done over the years.

Years of life lost over this silly daytime TV shit.
