[-] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

[-] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

Check out the GZD matrix instance it's cozy and nice: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/1294067

and the mastodon/akkoma/pleroma instance also run by our fellow comrades: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/3850925

[-] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

On what Mastodon instance are you registered?

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

You could also try Temu, pretty cheap stuff, although look carefully at reviews and make sure they have photos.

Doesn't seem like Tencent has that much ownership of it unless I'm missing something

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

He knows languages

Again I highly recommend you join the Matrix it's a nice and cozy place^^

[-] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

Someone would still have to own the hardware and have full control over it though, unless you actually have a cooperative and the hardware itself is commonly owned

There was tilde.red (you can find it on archive.org) which aimed to be a cooperative tilde but it sadly died down

[-] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

No he isn't

You should come on Matrix on the GZD chatroom, we're all ML there, it's a great place. You can go to https://app.element.io or download it Element, for server select "genzedong.xyz" and make an account. More info here: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/1294067

You can message me at @chay:altesq.net if you need more help^^

A pubnix like the tildes will be ideal here, but the governance is still an issue cause you have a 'benevolent' dictator

The Zero Euro is a souvenir banknote with authorized printing by the European Central Bank (ECB) and is on queue to be a popular in 2017 banknote collector markets. It’s origins stem from France in 2015 after Richard Faille, creator of popular French currency souvenirs, decided to create euros that promote tourism. The banknotes are printed at a private fiduciary facility and they share many of the same characteristics of a real Euro except that they are marked as “0”, hence the name, and are tested to ensure they cannot enter circulation as legitimate financial currency. The front of all zero euros is the same and it includes a white zero followed by the Euro sign to denominate no financial value. Then (from left to right) Brandenburg Gate, Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, Sagrada Familia, Manneken Pis and the Mona Lisa.

Rate my workout v2 (lemmygrad.ml)
submitted 5 months ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Hi comrades, a few months passed and I improved my workout, while in the past 2 weeks I wasn't as consistent as I would've liked I think I'm still doing good. I have yet to implement squats and the other ones cause I strained my knees too much, one of the reasons I removed the leg press; I heard its because of having flat feet?

leg curl 55kg / leg extension 3x8 ~~leg press 3x8 30kg~~ lat pulldown 3x8 40kg shoulderpress 3x8 30kg chestpress 3x8 25kg / inclinepress 3x8 25kg dumbell row curl 3x8 10kg dumbell row triceps exercise (no idea how its named) 3x8 15kg biceps curl barbell 20kg 3x8 / skull crushers 3x8 10kg ~~middle chest 5x8 12.5kg ~~smith machine mid row 3x8 35kg

The new gym I'm going at has different machines so I had to remove/replace some of the exercises. The lat pulldown one is especially harder now cause the machine is made for giants; and the shoulder press works at a different angle. It's cheaper and closer to me here, though

Hi comrades, what do you think of my routine?

shoulder press 3x10 25kg chest press 3x10 25kg incline press 3x10 20-25kg seated dip 3x10 30kg biceps curl each arm 10kg 3x10 total arnold pose 3x10 7.5kg biceps curl with iron rod 20kg 3x10 middle chest 5x8 10kg leg press 3x10 20kg mid row 3x10 35kg lat pulldown 3x10 35kg

I go three times to the gym per week. I'm getting noticeable improvements lately, wondering if I can do any improvements. No splits at the moment.

I am subscribed to various communities from Hexbear, yet I see zero posts from there since recently. Even if I manually go to a community from Hexbear it's empty

Edit: Fixed, accidentally made the post in Afrikaans, for some reason my language settings were broken lol

What is Matrix?

Matrix ≈ Discord - tracking + end-to-end encryption (by default)

Matrix is a protocol for real-time communication (text, audio, and video) implemented by various applications ("clients") -- the official one is Element for Linux, macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS), but there are many others, e.g. those listed here. It's also federated, like Lemmy. To use a Matrix client, you need to make a Matrix account at one of the Matrix homeservers (similar to how you can make an account on lemmygrad.ml or lemmy.ml but still access both of them). We have our own Matrix homeserver at genzedong.xyz, and you don't need an email address to register an account there.

How do I join the space?

(If you already have a Matrix account, skip to step 3)

  1. Download a Matrix client (e.g. Element) on your device.
  2. Create an account in the client. You can select genzedong.xyz as your homeserver here; if you choose the default matrix.org, you'll need to enter an email address. If it doesn't work on your client, try using Element Web for registration.
  3. Log in.
  4. If you have a Lemmygrad account with a solid posting history (moderator discretion applies), post your username in #vetting-answers-encrypted:genzedong.xyz or #vetting-answers:genzedong.xyz (make sure that your Lemmygrad account has your Matrix account listed in your profile), or request an invite on Lemmygrad by commenting or PMing your Matrix account name; otherwise, read the vetting questions in #vetting-questions:genzedong.xyz and answer them in either of the two aforementioned rooms. (These instructions are also available in #welcome:genzedong.xyz)

Of course comrades from Hexbear can join too, you can make an account on any homeserver you wish and join! Basically a group chat with communists. There's also a channel for Technology, Linux, learning Spanish, etc.

Someone made a tool to remove CSAM content automatically: https://github.com/db0/lemmy-safety

You can upload images to a Lemmy instance without anyone knowing that the image is there if the admins are not regularly checking their pictrs database.

To do this, you create a post on any Lemmy instance, upload an image, and never click the "Create" button. The post is never created but the image is uploaded. Because the post isn't created, nobody knows that the image is uploaded.

You can also go to any post, upload a picture in the comment, copy the URL and never post the comment. You can also upload an image as your avatar or banner and just close the tab. The image will still reside in the server.

You can (possibly) do the same with community icons and banners.

Why does this matter?

Because anyone can upload illegal images without the admin knowing and the admin will be liable for it. With everything that has been going on lately, I wanted to remind all of you about this. Don't think that disabling cache is enough. Bad actors can secretly stash illegal images on your Lemmy instance if you aren't checking!

These bad actors can then share these links around and you would never know! They can report it to the FBI and if you haven't taken it down (because you did not know) for a certain period, say goodbye to your instance and see you in court.

Only your backend admins who have access to the database (or object storage or whatever) can check this, meaning non-backend admins and moderators WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MONITOR THESE, and regular users WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REPORT THESE.

Aren't these images deleted if they aren't used for the post/comment/banner/avatar/icon?

NOPE! The image actually stays uploaded! Lemmy doesn't check if the images are used! Try it out yourself. Just make sure to copy the link by copying the link text or copying it by clicking the image then "copy image link".

How come this hasn't been addressed before?

I don't know. I am fairly certain that this has been brought up before. Nobody paid attention but I'm bringing it up again after all the shit that happened in the past week. I can't even find it on the GitHub issue tracker.

I'm an instance administrator, what the fuck do I do?

Check your pictrs images (good luck) or nuke it. Disable pictrs, restrict sign ups, or watch your database like a hawk. You can also delete your instance.

Good luck.
