Ninja Gaiden belongs to Tecmo Koei, not that they're doing much with it or Dead or Alive anymore

In the liberal mind, "Kiev vs Kyiv" is equal to "Beijing vs Peking" or "Myanmar vs Burma" or "Uluru vs Ayer's Rock"

I'm more interested in that Daggerfall spiritual successor honestly

Death Stranding came out in 2019. Death Stranding 2 will come out in 2025. That's six years for two games. If these were the PS2 days Kojima would have cranked out 3 Death Stranding games by now and we'd be getting Death Stranding 3: Subsistence along with a teaser for Death Stranding 4 next year.

Remember when video game trilogies used be to a huge thing in the sixth and seventh generations? You'd typically get 3 games in about 5-7 years

See: Halo, Gears of War, Resistance, Killzone, etc

Someone who has access to the show could probably take an actual screencap

TLDR: Yahtzee liked the game but thinks the PS5 is pointless

It's an interesting divergence compared to the sorts of enemies you fight in most Western RPGs. Imagine running into any of these guys or the evil house from FF7 in an Elder Scrolls

Probably overthinking a goofy anime game franchise but I find it interesting that they'd choose to combine Germany and Russia into one aggressor nation for their WWII facsimile soviet-hmm

I can't really call it liberal anti-communist brainworms though since the East Europan Imperial Alliance is more reminiscent of Imperial Germany than anything and I think the devs were consciously avoiding depicting anything even close to fascism or communism because Sega didn't want their wholesome anime WWII game to be political

spoilerThat didn't stop them from writing in a distrusted and hated minority that was sort of a stand-in for Jews though

I was looking for PSP games to check out and remembered Valkyria Chronicles went PSP exclusive after the first game. I played the first Valkyria Chronicles when it was released on PC a while back and while I enjoyed the turn-based tactical gameplay I sort of hated the game's aesthetics. I'm sorry, but I can't take your story about the horrors of war seriously when it's depicted in bright pastel colours and when everyone involved looks like a Pokemon trainer. Plucky child soldiers is also one of my most hated anime tropes

With Lollipop Chainsaw: RePop just having been released and Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered getting released soon, I remembered there was a third Suda51 console action game from the same time period: Killer is Dead. I bought the PC version like a decade ago and never got around to playing it. I think it's supposed to be more of a Platinum Games character action game as opposed to Shadows of the Damned which was just wacky Resident Evil 4 and Lollipop Chainsaw which was an arcadey beat-em-up/hack-n-slash game

Looking at the screenshots on Steam I can already tell it hasn't aged too well visually, having a really blotchy and ugly cel-shaded Unreal Engine 3 thing going on where all the characters look like they've been dipped in oil. Speaking of things that haven't aged too well, the most talked about feature of the game at the time of its release were its Gigolo Missions where you have to seduce the game's various waifus by ogling them while avoiding getting slapped

I used to love the outrageous and over the top Japanese games that were coming out in the 2010s like Deadly Premonition, Asura's Wrath, Shadows of the Damned or most Platinum Games titles so I guess I'll see how this one goes down. Did anyone else play this? I think the consensus was that it was pretty janky and mid

I've been seeing a bunch of videos in my feed about how IGN is REFUSING to review the Lollipop Chainsaw remaster because they HATE Juliet Starling for being too SEXY

I got curious and tried to see if IGN had actually officially come out and declared they would not review Lollipop Chainsaw Repop because they had no problem reviewing the original in 2012. Nope, they had in fact been covering the remaster ever since it had been announced, though there is no review as of now at least.

All the other results in my Google search were predictably outrage slop videos and links to posts on the Asmongold visible-disgust and Critical Drinker kombucha-disgust subreddits. I clicked on one of the posts and among the hivemind of the most room temperature IQ chud redditors you can imagine abuzz about how horrible and woke IGN was being was one lone commenter asking if IGN had actually officially stated they would not review the game.

A guy responded that while it can't be proven IGN hasn't reviewed the game yet because they object to its content, it's probably the most likely reason morshupls

I fucking hate all of these people, the cynical right-wing agitators making up shit for views and the stupid gamer morons who lap it up because of vibes

I'm rewatching Spirited Away with English subs I grabbed off opensubtitles.org and I had already been confused by some phantom lines that didn't correspond to any spoken dialogue but this scene made it obvious what was happening- there's extra lines added in places where the characters are facing away from the camera michael-laugh

Either the subtitler was hallucinating or these originate from the dub. I grew up watching a VHS tape chomsky-yes-honey in Japanese with Finnish subtitles and I don't recall this scene having dialogue

The ending is completely unrealistic as none of these guys would ever do any self-introspection
