I think I was trying them on and pinning the fabric to fit me and such and I tried a fit where men’s shorts would typically sit, and my brain immediately went “nope nope nope” so honestly I don’t think there is a rational reason in my head

There are skirts that… restrict movement? When movement is the best part about a skirt? Idk I know the thin pencil skirt look is something some people like but I don’t get it.

So I’m modifying a pair of men’s shorts to fit me, and I am realizing that I’m just into waist-high shorts. Ideally for the more “masculine” look (under current patriarchy etc etc) I would have my shorts sit around my hips and not my waist but come on. Waist high shorts just look so much better. Even when it comes to long shorts (these are like, typical men’s shorts that go down to the knee and I like that about them. I just also want them to be waist-height).

Skirts are an incredibly variable experience. Some are fantastic, some are awful.

Today’s fun gender song: A un Lugar Cerebral

An Argentinian band! I was so into them earlier this year and this is probably my favorite song of theirs.

Some little details I can’t help but mention:

The collar was my own creation, it didn’t come with the dress. I’m honestly still pretty proud of myself for just freehanding the pattern and going with it, even if the process of making and attaching it was pretty janky.

Butterfly patches were designed off of a drawing that a tumblr mutual made me!

I will eventually splatter the black jean pocket with some white paint to break up the solid block of color.

All the patches were hand-stenciled. The butterfly and the woman on the front were early stencils from 2023, and the back patches and chest patch were stencils from this year, so they’re a lot better made. Kind of fun to see the evolution, I think.

I finally, finally am (mostly) happy with a DIY dress custom I started over a year ago. idk if this is anyone else’s style, but I love it and I can’t wait to wear it to college lol (especially since once I get to college I can finally go on T!)

please ignore my messy floor, this is my sewing cave

Hello software-savvy Hexbears, I am a person who knows basically nothing about Linux and I’m looking to switch over. I have an M1 macbook (I know, very bourgeois) and I’m not looking to get new hardware. Which Linux distribution should I choose, and what’s the best way to migrate my data over without data loss?

I’m also looking to pirate games once I switch to Linux, so a distribution good for g@ming is preferred.

Eman told me that her immediate goal is 20,000 CHF to begin evacuating her family out of Sudan. Any donations are appreciated.

I've posted this fundraiser on here before, and I have an update. Dr. Ahmad and Sarra were able to evacuate Gaza! However, Dr. Areej is still in Gaza and we are trying to raise €4000 quickly so that she may also evacuate and reunite with her family. Any help is appreciated.

So I have a bunch of different color versions of one drawing and I can't choose which is the best. hexbears please give me your opinions.

[IDs: 5 different color versions of one drawing. The drawing shows a young man with long hair, wearing an orange and yellow hanfu; and a Chinese phoenix swirling up besides him. /end ID]
