Don't mind me just passing through with some vote information.

Both Kamala and Trump are dead even as far as the betting market is concerned

And pollsters are doing their song and dance

It would be somewhat funny if Trump again wins the EC but loses the popular vote.

Yeah I didn't want to include the SVP because then I'd have to talk about their leadership and their base went basically in two directions as their base realized that they'd be getting fucked too if it passes and do like a whole thing which I think might have bigger consequences in the future if their base is getting away from them but that's all speculative and the whole post would've gotten even longer.

Also a minor indulgence on my part how does a german feel about this, why very strongly and with genocidal rage.

Maybe I should become a poster that says "Germania delende est" after every post

Other vote news from switzerland

There were two iniatives people voted on:

Biodiversity:

Yes 37.0% vs 63.0% No

Biodiversity has gone down over the last decade a ton so the state already has some new measures but according to the ones who proposed this initiative it wasn't going far enough and they wanted some additional laws and to double the budget for protecting Biodiversity. Why was it reject this much? The No camp campaigned on two major pillars, food insecurity and energy insecurity, No basically said that a ton of farms would have to close and switzerland would have to rely on foreign food imports even more and energy companies said that it'd have made new energy installations, even renewables, very hard to build. I'm personally not surprised by the outcome the proposal wasn't very well written although I agree with the general points.

Pension Reforms:

Yes 32.9% vs 67.1% No

Honestly this is kind of all over the news with media mocking the FDP (market liberals) and GLP (green market liberals) today. So for the past 2 years the FDP has been trying to box through pension reforms aka work longer for less money this third one is the largest no their initiatives have gotten and it's fun seeing the NO grow larger and larger, huge L for neoliberals big W for left and unions who told them to fuck off and try again, also double L for neoliberals because a few months earlier people voted for a 13th pension payment and against their 'raise the retirement age' so now the SP and unions are thinking about actually reforming pensions aka making them better not worse. Also huge not a single canton (basically states) voted yes and the only places that even voted more yes than no are municipalities that are famous for having a ton of rich people even being called the 'Goldcoast'

Did you read anything? The value is looking at the considerable shift in voters, in this case 10%, from last election cycle. Use it to make an educated guess that we will also see a shift in other states more than likely it is not as drastic as 10% but it means that the dems are going to do much weaker than they did in 2020 and if they do shitty enough Trump might actually win this. Harris doesn't actually have a sizable lead again this is NY one of the dem strongholds, she is supposed to do much better, Trump polling better would mean a total sweep across the country. It's obvious that Israels actions are supported by the Biden government and Kamala is part of that government it something thing that is depressing dem voter turn out which helps Trump because his base doesn't care about that the hotter the conflict the lower dem turnout while rep turnout stays the same. Again, Israel does matter across the country does that mean NY is going to flip from blue to red? Of course not and that's not what I'm saying.

Roughly a shift of 10% from the last election with Israel starting even more shit in the middle east it might just be enough to completely kill any chance Kamala had.

In the annals of this present era, when Heaven’s favor once bestowed upon the Empress of the European Realms, Ursula von der Leyen, now appears to wane, the signs of discord multiply in alarming fashion. Not since the distant days when rulers were cast from their thrones by the wrath of nature have the rivers of Europe surged so violently. The floods that have swept across the lands, from Austria to Hungary to Poland, have wrought devastation.

These torrents, swollen with the rains of Heaven, have overwhelmed the great rivers—the Danube, the Morava, and beyond—bursting their banks, as if in a dire warning. Villages lay submerged, and cities were brought to their knees by waters that left most of their homes underwater. Bridges, those vital arteries of the realm, have collapsed, and the call for a state of natural disaster echoes across the land.

Surely, this is more than a mere misfortune; it is a sign from the Heavens. The Empress von der Leyen, though resolute in her proclamations of European solidarity, has lost the sacred Mandate of Heaven. Even now, the rulers of the East and the West scramble in panic. The governor of the hungarian province Viktor Orbán, was compelled to abandon his parliamentary duties and the teutonic general Olaf Scholz schemes the downfall by marching his army on the prohibitively expensive city of Brussels the seat of the Empresses power. In these omens, it is clear: Nature herself cries out, demanding a renewal of leadership that may once again align with the will of Heaven

The Empress, once entrusted with the sacred duty to guide her people, now finds herself beset by calamity on all sides, for the favor of Heaven does not waver lightly, and the storms above reflect the discontent below. As the rivers of Europe rage, drowning cities and villages alike, it is not only the Empress von der Leyen who must look to the heavens in fear of her fate. In these times of great upheaval, the court of Europe is rife with whispers of challengers, each seeking to seize the Mandate of Heaven and bring forth a new era of rule.

Reporting from the Red Turban headquarters planning the fall of the EU Sky and the rise of a red one, there will be prosperity under the heavens.

I mean it's unlikely that they'll be able to form a government with 25% BUT and that's why I posted it, the gains are real, my prediction is that we will see the center parties collapse during the next round of election in europe and if there is a functioning left wing they'll gain a lot here the communists picked up 2.5x more than the fascists and I know this is in a city but I don't think that fascists parties are able to do the reverse in the rural areas since those are already controlled by the center fascists.

Smaller good news from one european city Antwerp

The communist party (PVDA-PTB) is polling at second place with 24.7% of the votes after the conservatives (N-VA) at 28.3% during 2018 the communists got 8.7% so this is actually huge, don't know too much about Belgian politics but maybe we got someone around for it.

Indicated changes from this polls

Communist +16% Conservatives -7% Greens -5.4% Far Right +6.6% SocDems -3.2% Christian Dems -3.8% Market Liberals -2.9%

I.e. center collapsing with communist making huge gains as well as the far right.

This is on top of whatever you have to do, for example I could freely travel to the UK as long as I don't stay for longer than 6 months and they can do the same over here, my guess is you need to pay for the visa application THEN pay for the permit as well

Electronic Travel Authorisation is what you are supposed to look for.

This one was actually kind of hard had to fight GB 4 times and France 1 time but got it done.

First full Vic3 run after the new DLC, went for a Soviet Union run which went ok.

A bunch of other stuff happened like Trotsky being killed by a frenchman lots of european nations going communist and stuff

First time on the map, was incidentally on the domination map which meant couldn't really expand and on year 6 I was attacked and crushed.

lemmy.ml is terribly moderated - how and where do you settle this?

I'm not quite sure how I best encourage this discussion - so I'll ask this here. I am somewhat shocked, how /c/[email protected] is moderated. Large parts of the instance are in my view in tankie-territory like lemmygrad or hexbear, so much so that I find it borderline unaccaptable.

I question myself, how something like this could have consequences. Feddit has blocked both lemmygrad as well as Hexbear, lemmy.ml is several times larger and in many parts not problematic. Would that instance be blocked users would be unable to access a lot of content.

I ask myself, how do you settle this in the Fediverse, especially when it comes to larger instances. If the admins on feddit find the mods on lemmy.ml problematic, which avenues could they pursue to pressure them without defederating.

Other titles I thought about:

Feddit.de not beating the nazi instance allegations

Lemmy.ml welcome to the resistance

Also the incident that caused this very reasonable and very normal fedditor to get not mad at all

In my ongoing crusade to make myself miserable I once again am looking towards reddit-logo for the newest in how to just be an absolute piece of shit.

One may critique the way Israel is operating this war, and especially questioning and discussing if this is proportional.

Why thank you Holger it's really important to me to talk if Israel is allowed to kill 1000 brown people or 10'000 brown people this is why the moderate center is the moral center of germany.

A "genocide" this however not make, no matter how much this is repeated on tiktok and co.

Go fuck yourself

The hereby arguments of South Africa (You can find the hearings on youtube) were in any case weak. For example reprimanding closing the border to Gaza, without mentioning that they are closed since 7. October, because they were overrun by Hamas, partially destroyed and the people manning it butchered. In general, one has the impression, Hamas wouldn't exist in the eyes of South Africa.

Oh those unwashed barbarian hordes, they overran our defensive walls they butchered the people peacefully defending those walls by shooting the kneecaps.

Like I'm sorry this is your entire thing? Hans over here 'watched it' and all he gets from it, 'But ze afrikaners zey didn't mention the horrible attack of ze border crossings'. Literally laying out all the horrible shit Israeli government officials have said pubically, all the shit Israel did and is doing. 'Ze Afrikaners did not condemn ze Hamas so I have to make an arguements zat it is not a genocide'. Also fuck your passive voice Albert trying to be objective.

This is without abusing cavalry cheese instead using the germans and austrians to fight the french while their ally the english were having a tough time.

I'd say overall larger countries have become a lot stronger now in this patch and you can't 100% ignore society techs anymore due to how the whole local price system works. Which is good but I think quite a few don't know what exactly is happening so can be confusing for some. Also performance is noticeable early then there's a weird slow down around 1900s which then clears up again in the 20-30s
