Only applies to beer ads AFAIK.

I played through Sigil recently and the whole time there was a gaping super shotgun sized hole in my enjoyment of it. I get that Romero fine tuned it to play without it but for me I realized that I can't feel totally cozy playing doom without the ssg.

Lotta good stuff cheap seems like a good tagline until it's coming from Satan baby. Then it makes the store seem like Needful Things

Parts 1 and 2 are here:

At the end of part 2 you can start to see the problems with lag.

Run by Vytaan, the final 7 hours out of ~13 which wouldn't have even been possible without an engine fix due to the lag from the sheer number of monsters

Are we sure it's counting 1.5 M users and not 1.5 M memes posted by picard, pug, and squid?

Hm, the tweet says they need to make a voting plan, not that they need to show that they've officially registered or voted. Loophole?

trash diagram too

A lot of those standardized tests like SAT or GRE like to put those in (or at least they used to) on purpose. It wasn't that they couldn't render the diagrams correctly, instead they were checking for people making assumptions with information that wasn't given. To be somewhat fair I seem to recall a disclaimer that they weren't necessarily drawn accurately.

Summoning Salt did a great video on Tetris a few months ago. Before hypertapping and rolling, the level speed was the limit because people didn't think the pieces could move to the edges fast enough. Once that problem was solved they started to encounter glitched color palettes (on level 146 and 148) with dark colors like blacks and grays, making it difficult to see the pieces.

Then at 155 you can start encountering game glitches, and people started trying to crash the game, as it would represent "beating" it (because the game ended without the player losing). After that was accomplished the community went back to playing on a different version that didn't crash. However, before getting to the "rebirth" level of 255, they had to get through level 235, which instead of 10 lines takes 810 lines to clear due to a glitch.

This video from May ends without anyone getting past level 235, so looks like it took just a few more months to accomplish it. Plus it was done by someone who wasn't mentioned toward the end of the video (though he does come up at 46:30).

The whole video is good but if you're familiar with the movement techniques you can start at the section about colors https://youtu.be/mOJlg8g8_yw?t=4531

Wonder if SS will put out a small addendum at some point soon.

I know I've heard of some sports broadcasts like world cup getting uploaded to various sites. Wouldn't be surprised if movies were already there as well.

Hospitals are stretched to their limits during unseasonably early heatwave, as medical authorities liken public health risk to a ‘natural disaster’

Medical experts in Japan are to add a “most severe” category to the current heatstroke index, amid warnings that the extreme heat is straining medical services and causing damage to public health comparable to that in a “natural disaster”.

The Japanese Association for Acute Medicine said it would add a fourth category to the three-level classification later this year in an attempt to reduce deaths from heatstroke.

The announcement came in the same week as authorities in Tokyo said six people had died from the effects of a heatwave that has sent temperatures as high as 40C in some parts of the country – well above the 35C threshold classified by weather officials as “extremely hot”.
