Back in china for the first time since pre-covid. Shanghai pudong airport people mover, connected terminal 1 to a satellite boarding area(which apparently is the largest in the world, opened in 2019 and very nice i liked it). The people mover rolling stock consists of crrc class A with full ass platform doors.

i did see the sign for the maglev but did not end up riding it, didn’t have a need to.

Anyways riding HSR tomorrow so expect pictures of that tomorrow.

i’m not sure what community to post this on so i’ll post it here for now. if there is a better community for this lmk!

this week i got back into meditation and running and it really helped. i think i was hitting autistic burnout cuz i got super overstimulated easily and just couldn’t bring myself to do anything but after reading ismatu’s article https://ismatu.substack.com/p/girl-go-to-sleep-ft-lessons-from i finally allowed? myself to actually get some rest and dear god did it help.

Went to the university i'm going to next fall's encampment. It's crazy to go from high school where i could barely find anyone supportive of palestine(supportive enough to actually take action. most people were supportive but like no one did anything which pisses me off to no end but tangent aside) to a full on encampment. food was bussin tho

Also relating to the comment below my multitotal and your response, i agree with multitotal that it’s a bit of a romanticization but also i think this can viewed as a negation of the negation. Negation of the primitive structure and the modern alienated structures for a synthesis into hopefully a better society.

That felt a bit incoherent but i’m too lazy to reword that so hopefully it’s at least somewhat understandable.

I was reading this paper a while ago and this is Marx’s theory of alienation. When we are so alienated from the products of our labor it seems to pointless often.

The paper talks about how even under socialist economies labor is alienated to be redistributed by the state. An improvement on capitalism, but nonetheless alienated

Another way capitalism alienates us, while not directly marx’s analysis on labor, is from community. It’s so hard to have community under capitalism.

HI! I'm going to umich next fall and looking for a roomate to dorm with as a freshmen. Looking for male in COE. Leaning towards rooming on central but also willing to room on north.

This is probably a shot in the dark but if anyone is also going there it'd be great to have a commie roomate.

Kinda what the title says. When like outside in public I know I like to wear my airpods w/ noise canceling and avoid loud spaces. What do you guys usually do when you notice you're like "it's all too much."

Also what do you guys do when you're at home to relax and kinda reset after too much sensory stuff?

to be fair the shanghai metro also has security(which imo kinda unnecessary but fair ig). but even then they have an actually nice metro

I have also had the chance to meet a pre-new china member of the cpc. He was my grandpa actually. Unfortunately he died a couple years ago and the last time I was back in china I didn’t know what a marx was…

I wish you the best of experiences though.

I think most of the stuff is pretty standard here. Still going for a 5% growth rate in spite of all the headwinds, more jobs(yay), and a push for 高质量(high quality) growth.
