As a Swede this is not the news I wanted to wake up to. Let’s just pray Trump is going to spend all these four years on the golf course as much as possible.

Even if he never said another thing for 4 years, the people that would get installed would ruin everything. I fucking hate my country right now.
As an American who voted against him to save democracy here, I can't even sleep. If it wasn't for my girlfriend and my family I would have probably killed myself tonight. Dark days ahead, of a scale I can't even imagine. The worst part is the feeling of betrayal by my countrymen. I don't belong here anymore, but I can't leave those I love.
Don't kill yourself. Get some sleep and give it some time. You can always die later and maybe there will be an opportunity to do some good in the meantime.
I have a girlfriend and family and yet I'm still considering ending it all. Someone please bring me strength. My entire family is either against me or apathetic and I just can't take it anymore. I've struggled with depression all my life but between losing my job recently and seeing these election results, I think I've reached my breaking point.
No sleep will come my way tonight, either. I plan on continuing to drink and smoke until I pass out but I'm only going to regret this tomorrow once the hangover kicks in and brings me to an even lower low. I don't know what else to do, though. I'm surrounded by fucking idiots who obviously didn't realize just exactly what was at stake for the future of not only the county, but the whole god damn planet.
I know I'm screaming into the void here but like so many other of us, I need to fucking vent. Either help me or ignore this comnent; nothing matters anymore.

It's honestly not that bad. Yeah, Trump sucks and we'll probably see some regression in a few areas, just like we did in his first term. But we got through that and things are still pretty okay. I'm guessing we'll see some inflation as well, but nothing nearly as bad as we saw just after COVID, and we got through that.
Turn off the news and do things you enjoy. Cuddle with your girlfriend and vent your frustrations. Yes who the President is matters, but it matters a lot less than many people like to claim.

Pushed you closer to the EU? He put import Tarifs on our goods, there had never been a wider gap between Europa and the USA than under Trump. Most EU countries have made contingency plans for when Trump gets elected. His presidency is going to cost Europe likely in the high billions.
