I don't get it, I am bad at chess and maybe I'm misreading the notation
if you take the black rook with the white queen can't the black king just take your queen? what prevents itI forgot to mention the most helpful advice - the board at the link is interactive.
Yes, but
___ then white takes the pawn at g7 and keeps the black king in perpetual checks while taking a pawn, the bishop and the queen. Black is left with no pieces and down a pawn.Answer

What's to stop the king from taking the queen though?
Nothing. But then white moves the rook to g7 (protected by the bishop, so can't be taken by the king) and checkmates instantly
