Right now, my summer song finna be "Not Like Us" clear til Labor Day.
i listen every day its probably gonna move to number one for me soon.
Such a fucking banger
Its so good, should 100% be the track of the summer, but I'd be lying if I said Euphoria doesn't just slightly edge it out in my personal taste.
I'mma say somethng nerdy as shit: Euphoria was 100% structured like bossfight BGM.
Same. Not Like Us is catchier, but Euphoria hits on a different lyrical level.
I don't know why but I like 6:16 in LA better than Euphoria.
Love that sample, beat, and flow in that one. They're all amazing though.
Labor Day best day
Well, aside from the actual Labor Day, May Day
i love my friends, best friends ever! I talked to them for like, 17 hours the other day.
Hopefully, I'm one of 'em.

Anything that can go full auto brrr is fine... but what about M16? Am I revisionist?
None of you are free from revisionism!
*The people were astonished at what Pluto had to say.
They hated Pluto 'cause he told the truth!*
yes
Everything in the lot, then...
I hope y'all have a great week!
you too!!
same to you
I don't know what I'm going to do for pride month. I have a drivers license now so maybe I'll actually go to gay bars/marches and rallies and stuff instead of walking awkwardly in a rainbow capitalism fair.
It's scary does anyone have tips on now to navigate gay bars as a BIPOC?
i have no tips but be wary of handsy crackers.
fucking chasers and gawkers
I hate when people drive white or black Ford SUVs or full sedans.
Whenever I see them in my rearview mirror at night I always assume they're pigs and I get really nervous. Then when I realize it's just some Karen I get so pissed. Cop cosplaying fucking stormtrooper ass cars.
Do we count old-school, boat-sized Buicks (I'm talkin like, 225s and shit) as stormtrooper-assed cars? 'Cause I can't give up my grandmother's wagon, I'm sorry comrade
No way, they're way too before my driving years to consider as cop cars. Those are gangster as fuck. That's an awesome car, comrade, congrats!
I meant to say only Ford SUVs and Ford full sedans are cop cars to me, as opposed to the Ford Focus or Fiesta or non-Ford full sedans.
They should have cops driving Ford Fiestas, that shit would be funny.
Star Wars 501st is the worst
Been all over the place.
My mom got an operation done last week and she's been recovering well, but needs help doing anything strenuous. My dad hasn't been eating much lately and its reached to the point where, for the past few days, he's barely been able to get up. He has parkinson's so it makes it especially hard for him to move around. So my brother and I have been helping move him around, but its taken a lot out of physically, especially my brother who has back problems. Thankfully he's been doing a lot better today and looks like he should be able to move on his own in the next day or so.
Meanwhile work has been increasingly hectic. I had previously posted about it, but deleted the post just to be on the safe side. But there was some nonsense that happened over the weekend.
On a lighter note, things have been going well with my crush. Kinda dropped a hint of a date idea last weekend and I'm probably going to ask her out this weekend if everything else resolves itself.
Hi! I don't know if I should post this here but what would you guys include in a presentation on race and race-related issues in school?
We have mostly finished a presentation, but I may have missed some important topics. Topics included are:
- Definition of race
- Racism and its origins and examples
- Microaggressions and examples
- Privilege and examples
- Example of discrimination
(I may make this a separate post as well if more details are needed)
Read Economics of Racism
though it won't answer the microaggressions thing
(Book came out in the 1990s)
Thanks! I'll give it a quick read.
I mean, it definitely makes good points, though, about eugenics in 1990s American life, but yeah, skim through some of it as it's a lot of statistics (though stick for the observations).
That's especially good as we were looking for statistics to talk about, especially ones that are contradictory (eg. one race more likely to hold drugs, another more likely to be arrested)
This has plenty of statistics.
Yeah, maybe skim through it, it's about 200 pages
Guess what day was it today... anyways, I just toured the capital city... also, Othello, it already feels like June to me....
Hint:
Christmas in July, maybe?
eh idk
Another hint: something something Queen Victoria...
The flag is there for a reason...
D'oh!
For some reason, I thought "Australia joke" lol
I mean, Canada is also burning as well... oof...
Tru tru
It's so fucked that my only white friend since elementary school is also by far the least racist friend I've had since elementary school because she's a communist
i dont think i could ever have a white lib friend again
Everyone should read the Economics of Racism by Victor Perlo.

Official Title of this Community: Ethnic Minorities and People of Color
Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?
-
Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.
-
This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.
-
Irony Racism is still racism. Racism is bad m'kay? We will treat irony racism and bad faith racist satire as racism. Will wield the ban hammer accordingly.
-
No sectarianism: This is an identity channel not a channel for you all to complain about why XYZ isn't the "one true leftism". Take that to another place.
-
Stupidpol is not allowed. Stupidpol is class reductionist. We are an identity community. Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is "not real" and that if you only thought like them you'd see what your "real" identity is. Mods reserve the right to ban users and content who promote stupidpol, stupidpol memes, and other class reductionist thinking.
FAQ
I don't look XYZ and/or sometimes I can pass as white so I don't know if I can post here. Can I?
-
This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.
-
Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.
What can I post?
- Anything you think is relevant to the mission of this community. Things will evolve over time.
