Every time someone wants to talk about 'making new jobs', I'm just here like "where they at then?" I'm not seein 'em. My partners ain't seein 'em. My roommates ain't seein 'em. Where they at, though?

500,000 new wall street jobs moving money around for bourgeoisie white collar criminals.

Yeah I know, he "lowered unemployment" by declaring victory on the public health emergency, ending unemployment payments, and forcing people back to work at dangerous jobs while stigmatizing the wearing od PPE (and standing by as that PPE is criminalized) during a fucking airborne pandemic and that's why more and more of my friends are becoming disabled.

The job creation st the cost of people's lives is another atrocity he and his capitalist friends have to answer for

I had no idea those Truman Show-like Alzheimer's Towns required so much personnel.

Dementia towns are wild. It's the outcome of the realization that "wow these people do so much better if they're living in a small walkable city where everyone's needs are met" and then deciding that instead of fixing the problem and making small walkable cities where everyone's needs are met, to do a pretend version of that and charge their insurance and families $8000/person/month

500,000 new part time gigs stocking shelves on overnights at minimum wage.

anyway, i was reading some jobs report article about "unemployment" and was thinking about how the U3 definition is basically propaganda, as opposed to the U6 definition (includes part time who want to be full time) which is closer but still has major limitations, like not recognizing people employed in crappy/low-pay jobs they don't want because they can't find something suited to their professional experience/education.

you can see how the graph shows U6 unemployment rates are generally 3x as high as U3, but it would look bad to say "the unemployment rate in our way-to-tight labor market is only 12%! that's why we have to keep the interest rates so high! the economy needs to have 1/5th of the able-and-want-to-work population destitute in order for this to work, not just 1/10th!"

butu besides that, i saw this chicanery...

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Friday showed the US economy added 206,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in June, more than the 190,000 expected by economists.

wow what a windfall! that's 16k extra jobs!

The unemployment rate rose to 4.1%, up from 4% in the month prior and the highest reading in almost three years. June's job additions were a slight decline from May, which saw job gains revised down on Friday to 218,000 from the 272,000 initially reported last month. Total revisions for April and May showed the US economy added 111,000 fewer jobs than initially reported.

except the previous two months calculations were over by 50k jobs each. can't wait to see how much the june calculation is gonna be off by once we are two months down the road.

Did you know the economy is good actually? If you're struggling it's your fault. Biden's economy is actually great

All of which are second or third jobs at an average hourly rate below minimum wage. But hey more jobs more better!

How long until they count prison slave labor as jobs and just start imprisoning everyone to pump the numbers up

I can't take any unemployment report seriously ever since I got a sound bite of Obama saying joj stuck in my head. I picked that up from a cs188 video I watched a decade ago.

They just keep creating all these crappy joj.

U4 is real unemployment, and it is UP by 1% compared to last year. Everything below U4 is just cooked numbers

500K jobs with full benefits, pay that allows the worker to afford a modest place to live, and some extra left over for retirement/fun spending?

Aka THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM

I feel like zero jobs like I described have been created in the last 4 years... probably longer.

Until jobs on par with manufacturing job in 1960 are coming along, I don't want to hear shit. Make a McDonald's job paying $25/hr, full time, with all benefits and I'll be there saying "oh this sounds good..."

Well you need a lot of expert scryers to interpret what the senile ruler of the empire is actually saying

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

He created 500 000 jobs, but he didn't said how much they'll be paid.
