Some choice quotes from Vance:

"I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole ... or that he's America's Hitler". “I’m a ‘never Trump’ guy. I never liked him.” “My god what an idiot.” “I find him reprehensible.”

Trump don’t care. He kissed the ring and promised to do a Jan 6th for him. He’s in.

This is a pipe dream but I want Hillbilly Elegy brought up as often as possible. There is a very small chance that Vance could lose Appalachia for Trump.

Why would Hillbilly Elegy have that effect?

The book is largely considered inaccurate, condescending, and insulting around these parts.

I would like to know more because I have some good friends in Appalachia (Eastern Kentucky). Can you elaborate? What about it is inaccurate, condescending, and insulting?

Here's an interview with Silas House that talks about some of it.

Considering how big a fan of Hitler Trump is, as well as how big an idiot he is.. theres a non-zero chance that he heard the Hitler comparison and took it as a compliment.

Like, it was probably the only question, right? He thought he had a loyal stooge in Pence, but the little fucker proved to have just enough of a spine to, ya know, do his job. Gotta make sure that doesn't happen again.

Let's say Trump wins 2024 and 2028 rolls around and ~~a young Democratic challenger~~ Cyber-Biden wins in a landslide. Does anyone see any scenario where Vance certifies the election results? They will be itching for an excuse to create a constitution crisis.
