yes it's nice that it's joever but kamala is fucking evil. she's a cop, she laughed about putting parents in jail for their children's truancy, and she wouldn't let cannabis offenders out of prison after it was legalized because she got paid by private prison lobbies to do so. total scumbag who deserves absolutely 0 support from anybody but the most trump derangement syndrome riddled liberals

She is a complete ghoul. She and her family are also mobbed up with gig work companies. They helped campaign against rights and protections for gig workers.

She's also ridiculous and really bad at what is basically her only job - winning popularity contests lol

[–] [email protected] 60 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Her brother worked for Uber to make sure they beat that law in California that would have made gig workers employees

Thanks! i couldn't remember the details fidel-salute

Kamala's husband, Douglas Emhoff, was also a lawyer for corporate clients including Wal-Mart and Merck Pharmaceuticals. So, pretty similar to the Clintons and other neolib Democrats. But maybe he's gotten better recently? Maybe he has had a change of heart after seeing the guts of the imperialistic war machine? Let's see what Doug has been up to lately: https://www.politico.com/news/2023/11/04/doug-emhoff-anti-semitism-college-campuses-00125384

Emhoff: There is an ‘antisemitism crisis’ on our nation’s campuses

"It’s an antisemitism crisis to be clear on our campuses and even in our K-through-12 schools, on our streets and our markets, wherever you go."

Yeah, don't you hate it when you go to "the markets" and people magically know that you're Jewish and start saying antisemitic things to you? Who among us has not tried to buy avocados at Whole Foods, and been asked to prove that we were not Jewish before being allowed to check out? I know that children in Gaza are starving and getting bombs dropped on him, but please spare a thought for poor old Doug. I'm sure it's hard out there for Doug on "the streets." (/s)

Whom amoungst us has not had bad expierences at our markets.

Spoken like a person that has not seen the inside of a "market" in decades michael-laugh

iirc she was appointed to her first two public jobs simultaneously by Willie Brown, one of which she was ineligible by statute to hold (some kind of state public health board or medical board)

[–] [email protected] 67 points 3 months ago (6 children)

The first president ever to receive 0 votes in any primary. Probably, idk, fuck US electoral history.

[–] [email protected] 44 points 3 months ago

I forgot she withdrew before the primaries even began in 2020 lmao. For some reason I thought she had gotten at least a couple delegates before flopping

[–] [email protected] 34 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

The current primary systems didn't really exist until 1972. This was mainly in response to a bunch of people getting mad that the 1968 Democratic nominee, Hubert Humphrey, was nominated without a single primary vote because he simply inherited Lyndon B. Johnson's delegates.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

National primaries weren't even a thing until relatively recently, but this is definitely a weird case--sort of analogous to the JFK assassination or Nixon stepping down, but those were both well before their respective conventions. Side note, but somehow I never knew that Reagan ran against Ford in the 1976 GOP primary and Ford barely edged him out.

edit: sorry, I now realize what you meant but I'll leave it up for the fun fact

[–] [email protected] 15 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I mean technically John Tyler had that honor, I think.

Goddamn he's ancient. But it really gives insight into how short u.s history really is, doesn't it?

Like the recently oft-repeated trivia that Biden was born closer to Lincoln's inauguration than his own

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 months ago

I like saying he was born during World War 2 during the battle of Stalingrad

one part of my brain is agreeing with you, the other is entirely motivated by schadenfreude for Hillary Clinton. I live in Illinois so I’m not going to vote for her because it’s pointless here so I’m sticking to first principles but I also hope to relish in the feeling that Hillary lives to see that the first woman president is not herself

[–] [email protected] 60 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

I think my full position is:

  1. Kamala is a piece of shit and does not deserve the ticket
  2. Kamala is funny unintentionally, and in the same capacity as Trump, I want to see her quarantined into her own talk show away from affecting anyone's lives
  3. Joe Biden is also a piece of shit so I'm happy to see his ego bruised
  4. I want to live knowing Hillary is forced to exist alongside the reality that she had no excuse besides the fact that people specifically didn't like her and that she fucked up in fumbling the bag to Trump
[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago

After reading this... I... I might actually vote for her. Basically for the lulz.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 3 months ago (1 children)

This is wishful lib thinking.

If Kamala won, Clinton wouldn't think "oh, I guess it was my fault". She would say "America wasn't ready for a woman president when I lost", or some other cope bullshit.

[–] [email protected] 47 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

no I know she's not going to have a public outburst or a reckoning, fuck her, I just want her to live with the fact that she did not secure the bag and someone did it two terms later, even if she has to constantly make excuses for it. I want her to experience that cognitive dissonance and I want her to get 5% more insane excusing it to herself, I want her ego to dip further into unreality

[–] [email protected] 17 points 3 months ago

There's an entire cottage industry of takes around the "politicians all suck" sentiment in this country and she will forever be branded as being uniquely unlikable among them. The worst turd in the open sewer of American politics.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 3 months ago

I'm so stoked about that

The disgusting reality of Copmala's record isn't coming close to blunting my high. Today slapped

[–] [email protected] 18 points 3 months ago

that would indeed be fucking awesome. a cum town but literally coming to life lmao

She also supports genocide as much as Biden, even if there is less visible glee.

https://www.jpost.com/us-elections/article-811309

Harris went on to say, understanding that Israel has a right to defend itself, how it does still matters.

Kamala Harris is literally turning a big dial that says "Genocide the Muslims" on it, and constantly looking back at the audience for approval like a contestant on the price is right.

She's an awful candidate whose political career started because she dated the mayor of San Francisco who gave her a job which would sound like an awful sexist cliche if it wasn't true

[–] [email protected] 24 points 3 months ago

Holy Jesus, Willie Brown. He was old when he retired and that itself was decades ago. He's 31 years older than her.

[–] [email protected] 44 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

of course she is, she's a cop. dedicated her whole career to being a DA until she became AG for cali

[–] [email protected] 38 points 3 months ago

Everything you're saying is true, BUT!

It would be deliciously humiliating for Hillary Clinton to have to watch the inauguration of the first woman president and it isn't her.

Would you rather have 100pct Hitler or 100pct someone who was a "cop"?

Lmao

[–] [email protected] 39 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It's the US, there are no non-Hitler candidates

[–] [email protected] 18 points 3 months ago (3 children)

In the US there is nobody stopping Hilter candidates.

Correct. California's top cop. top-cop

[–] [email protected] 20 points 3 months ago

we know, but this is super funny to see happen.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I don’t think they pick her because no one in the party actually likes her.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I think that's why they're gonna pick her. The election is already pretty much lost at this point and parading her around gives them like a triple idpol bonus that allows their voter base to cope with the loss by claiming they were too progressive for todays america.

I don't think anybody needs to be reminded that kamala harris sucks because nobody likes her to begin with. She's dead air in a human suit

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 months ago
[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 months ago

This is the consequence of the narrative that Biden was unpopular because he was old, not because his politics suck. I would really be surprised if Kamala, who has the same shitty politics, actually ends up being popular.
