Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

Summary

Project 2025, a manifesto supported by the conservative Heritage Foundation, calls for a ban on pornography, labeling its purveyors as criminals and advocating for strict penalties, including jail time for producers and registered sex offender status for educators distributing it.

The manifesto argues that porn lacks First Amendment protection, framing it as harmful and exploitative.

With a right-leaning Supreme Court, proponents aim to overturn existing protections established in Miller v. California, potentially impacting mainstream media.

Donald Trump has pledged to bring Project 2025 contributors onto his team.

This, I believe will be the very least of our problems.

First, they came for the trans people* and I did nothing because I am not trans.
Then they came for the immigrants and I did nothing because I am not an immigrant.
Then they came for women's rights and I did nothing because I am not a woman.
Then they came for the... wait, what? Hold up!

* They came really hard for the trans people. Like strangely hard. Like they had some find of fixation.

They're very strangely into trans people, obsessive even, they think about it constantly

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 hours ago

Some might say they're chasing trans folks.

Downloading intensifies

Do it.

Fuck around and find out.

The sad thing is, the nation will care more about porn than abortion rights. 🤦‍♂️

And again, the US totally failed to learn from history. This time, even their own history. Do you actually have history classes in school, or has this been replaced by "American" "football" or "Cheerleading" classes already?

Hint: I'm talking about 1920 to 1933, when organized crime in the US was thriving like mad due to a similar stupid idea. This time, it won't be any better. Keywords: Volstead Act and Cullen-Harrison Act

My history classes were how heroic the founding fathers were (nothing about how they owned slaves until college), how the civil war was about states rights, how we kicked total ass in WW2 except FDR was kind of a dictator and had too many terms, and how LBJ fucked up Vietnam and it was his fault we lost. They did offer an AP History class and it was a bit more truthful than what I had so far up to that point, but was still subject to the same school board’s oversight.

It was very “both sides had a point but the rightmost point is the correct one”.

This was in the 90s and early 2000s in rural Appalachia.

Once I got to college I was like uhhhh what? It’s crazy to me that the federal government subsidizes and provides education that is going to lead to its own downfall. Maybe we DO need to dismantle the department of Education.

Holy shit did I just red pill myself?

Joking of course. These people can’t even govern their own impulses (see Epstein and rampant pedophilia on the right).

It makes me wonder what the rest of the country outside my state is even learning. When I was in high school, it felt like WW2 was the ONLY history being taught in regular history class. I had to take an elective, AP, European history class just to learn something other than the American revolution, the civil war, civil rights movement, women's sufferage, and WW2.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 hours ago

This was consistently for me too. I learned more world history from PC games than I did in school.

Oh man do I ever hope they ban porn in the US. That would be fucking hilarious.

Its already psuedo-banned in some states, not outright, but PornHub and others are blocked in a number of states.

You could probably take an educated guess as to which states with nearly 100% accuracy.

It was their trial run, now they want to deploy that nationwide, incrementally chipping away at it.

If porn is made illegal, only criminals will have porn.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 11 hours ago

The only way to stop a bad guy with some porn...

[–] [email protected] 62 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The porn ban will just be the excuse they use to crack down on VPNs so they can implement a full on Chinese style internet censorship program.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Goof luck for the companies depending on VPNs...but hey, Donnie's going to crash the economy anyway, so why fret.

The Americans can choose between Vlad's Russia, CCP China, 1979 Iran and All of the Above. WTF, the fucking Nazis did not ban porn.

People who voted for Trump after he won:

The same people after he declare porn illegal.

I hope they actually do it. This is like the abortion issue, if they actually go through with it people will be like "What?? How could this happen??"

[–] [email protected] 4 points 11 hours ago

The major porn sites should go dark right now in protest. On inauguration day. For a month.

Cannot wait for black market porn. lmao
I have a couple friends that already distribute.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 day ago

So? The president is a felon. Crime is legal.

[–] [email protected] 152 points 1 day ago (7 children)

registered sex offender status for educators distributing it

If a book in your classroom or school library has anything beyond a heterosexual peck on the cheek, congratulations, you're now a sex offender. Not a joke.
