You can't really say "I'm only fascist leaning". Either you are or you aren't

nah, because then liberals and fascists would basically be the same thing

... wait a second

"alt right" is a simple rebranding of "racist"

I'm not exaggerating. Look how it's used. Most of them aren't even economically right.

THANK YOU. This is an easy way to tell if you’re dealing with liberals: do they put modifiers in front of “right” or “capitalism”? (Even the term “late capitalism” comes from a lib IIRC.)

As for me, there is no acceptable amount of rightwing. I’m so leftwing, I don’t even make right turns when I move around. I just keep turning left until I get there.

I think the best way to know libs is they use the terms freedom or democracy instead of saying capitalism at all.

I really like late stage capitalism. It implies that capitalism itself is cancer, and it's the terminal kind. It's the part of the illness where organs start shutting down.

If I'm talking to someone that is not a leftist, I will absolutely use modifiers because they distinguish using them.

You're absolutely right though. There is no acceptable amount of "right". I made that mistake when I first interacted here by using the term "extreme" when I meant to say "unchanging in the face of evidence". As in, an extremist. I've learned a lot since then though.

Alt-right was a way of laundering fascists. I think it's a self-identified label though. Initially it was 4chan idiots who read too much Nick Land (any amount of Nick Land is too much). They wanted to be racist but without the connotations of stagnant American white boomer evangelicals.

The word woke is getting laundered too. At this point it just means gay or trans. People claiming they're against woke ideology might as well call themselves homophobic.

I think it’s useful in sifting out the different roles each play in maintaining class rule. The respectable faces trying to sell to us on it versus the militants who’d bitterly defend it as it wavers. It’s not that simple ofc, but it’s more useful than “pit fodder”.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 year ago

Generally agreed. It's useful in so far as it describes different movements within the fascist mileu.

I do like the term "pit fodder" Seems usefel to me barbara-pit

The only acceptable "right" you can be is "handed."

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm the one true leftist because I'm left handed.

Same. Left eye dominant and left footed too. Even the left side of my hairline looks better. I even have a curve on the left side of my abdomen (thanks scoliosis).

Take that you so called "leftists"!

smuglord

Doesn't that mean your right-side of your brain is the one mostly operating? soviet-hmm

I'm so leftwing i removed the right hemisphere of my brain

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

Oh shit oh fuc I need a lobotomy now

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I never knew footedness was a thing.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

If you kick a ball you'll figure out pretty quickly which foot gives you better control and power

Its potentially helpful for deciding who gets the wall and who merely needs to spend some time in the Arizona tent gulags

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 year ago

Yeah, there's no amount of right-wing that is acceptable, but there are amounts that deserve the gulag/reeducation camp, and amounts that deserve the wall, and it's sometimes worth distinguishing.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's a very useful term for separating the extremists from the respectable conservatives like George W. Bush and Mitt Romney ☺

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 year ago

that's all it is. Distancing while legitimizing both

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 year ago

I'm glad they've mostly fallen out of fashion. They're fucking fascists, and those that aren't are so sympathetic to fascists that it amounts to inviting a fascist to the table anyway.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I never liked "alt right" because it describes "alternative"

Bro. How the hell is LITERALLY THE MOST BELOVED IDEOLOGY IN THE WORLD AND THE MAINSTREAM PARADIGM THAT ONLY THE HIGHEST IQ INDIVIDUALS EVEN HAVE A HOPE OF QUESTIONING an "alternative"

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I agree with you on your examples, but right and left are relative terms. That's why being "ultraleft" is bad, and why it's good to be to the right of an ultraleftist (though that isn't to be in the "right wing").

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

True. They all need to get squarely out of my life.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I would say there’s an acceptable amount of conservatism. Monogamy, religion (even though I think it’s stupid), lifestyles. And even then, this conservatism is usually based on what’s considered “liberal” and not necessarily tied to any ideology. But proclaiming yourself to be “right wing” means fetishizing these traits and becoming a caricature

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

Traditional small "c" conservatism was just about wanting to raise your children the way you grew up, it doesn't really exist anymore. When I grew up cops dressed like mailmen who drove clearly marked sedans and you could walk across the southern border. Now the cops look like soldiers and the border has saw blades on it

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

I don't know why we still call them right because clearly they should be left in the dustbin of history.
