This is the dumbest hill that Oregon chooses to die on.

Please don't. Getting gas has been so much faster with people pumping their own gas.

Didn't you read the article? The only pro is if you're an oil company!

I agree with you though, things have been so much nicer this way. And since no more than 50% can be aelf-serve there are still full service pumps for those who need/want them.

No matter what decision is made on this the oil company profits. If that was such an issue maybe we shouldn't be sitting around twiddling our thumbs while we get milked dry.

When passing through Oregon it's something I usually forget at the first stop for gas. Sometimes they are quite rude as I go for my usual self pumping routine. However my last time down there last year, they seemed more chill and made it sound more optional.

I do understand after 70+ years this will wipe out a whole level of lower skilled jobs for people that won't be easily replaced at a full level across the state.

Locally there's one municipality (county) that bans self serve but overall there is a little full serve but it's a higher paid option offered with self serve. Self serve is what most stations are.

Self service vehicle fueling is going to happen anyway in the decades ahead when EVs become the norm.

Huntington, NY is what you're referring to? (along with New Jersey)

Yes for the US but it's Richmond, BC in Canada I'm referring to.

I guess I've never had to fill up there to notice!

It’s a dangerous job. The fumes are toxic and they are constantly exposed to them in high levels.
