What's surprising is how unsurprised I am by that shit. I didn't read it and go, "No way, no one would do that!" Nope. As soon as I stumbled on it, I thought, "Well of course the chuds on 4chan did that."

I work in software, and I've seen far too many guys in my industry who are either skinny as a rail and surviving on Cheetos dust, or painfully overweight. Had several co-workers croak unexpectedly, at shockingly young ages.

It's a real problem in the industry. People simply plop themselves down at their computers and forget to do anything else for an entire day.

I have kids, and refuse to let them lose their dad early, so I hit the gym for an hour in the mornings, at least every other day. I do a mix of cardio and weight training. I also never stay seated for longer than 45 minutes.

Seriously, guys... If you work in the software industry, make a habit of getting up and moving around. It doesn't actually take much to reap enormous benefits just from staying more active.

That shit was amazingly disgusting. And yeah, Trump gets no sympathy from me. But I won't call for his death, either. I want him to live a very long time. In prison.

But it shouldn't be. He shows no signs - cognitively speaking - of being capable of putting something like this together as a stage-managed event, and all of his past stage-managed events have been shitshows because he micromanages everything and he's incompetent.

Wouldn't be the first time. Conservatives are conservative up until the moment someone uses freedom from government oversight in a way that hurts or inconveniences them. Then they're all, "There oughta be a law against blah blah blah" without an iota of self-awareness.

Thank you. And fuck the idiots spouting off with the "staged" nonsense. The time to believe something is staged is when you have evidence that it was.

Any idea if those protests are making any difference? Watching Israel become this has been heartbreaking.

I hadn't thought of that, but I guess it's possible. Since COVID first appeared, we've learned a lot about how it affects people when they don't take the time to fully recover and try to "push through," as it were.

And I can think of no job more prone to inducing people to try to "push through" than the presidency.

Sigh... Well, that's it. I think he's done.

For the last five years, Republican attacks on Biden's age and health have been continuous and stupid. For 4.9 of those years, they've been clearly and utterly baseless, which is what makes this doubly infuriating.

He's had good moments since the "debate," several of which were good enough to make me think he was fine and this was just more Republican bullshit. And even the debate itself, I thought he warmed up after the first twenty minutes or so, and was happily willing to believe he really did just have a cold + jet lag + the general lack of resilience that comes with very old age. Hell, get me sick and then hopped up on cough medicine and I become completely incoherent.

But this... This is two weeks later, and he still couldn't hold it together. He still seemed listless and intermittently uncertain what was going on.

Maybe this is old age catching up to his speech impediment. Maybe it's not an actual decline, it's just the stress of the job and a lapse in his ability to make his mouth do what his brain wants it to do. Maybe.

But even if that's the case, even if that's all it is, communication is a core responsibility for the President of the United States of America. And for whatever reason, be it cognitive issues or just an inability to clearly talk, he simply isn't communicating well anymore.

I hate saying this. I really do. He's been a very good president. But he should step down and let Kamala Harris take the reins. It's time.

Hard disagree. American citizens are definitely voting for. Unfortunately, due to our shitty fucking election system, their votes don't count as much as the votes of temporarily embarrassed millionaires living in trailer parks in rural Bumfuckistan.
