Every time it starts bleeding after I inject my anxiety takes over. At this point it's bled more times than it hasn't. I honestly probably got lucky with the first couple, although I still worry that I messed up and injected into a vein, especially when the bleeding was worse this time. So, hypothetically and theoretically of course, what would happen if I injected into a vein? Does anybody here have experience in doing so, or am I just either incompetent with injections or extremely unlucky in terms of probability?It takes a lot of very careful and skilled work to inject in a vein. I know because I do it at work. You don't accidently inject in a vein, don't worry.
How much bleeding are we talking here, cause what I think is concerning bleeding and what you think is concerning bleeding is probably not close. A little daub of blood at the end is fine and normal. A bit of bleeding is fine and normal - especially if you're taking any blood thinners or aspirin. If it's 3 hours later and you've had to change bandages a few times and it's still actively bleeding - that's making me think "this is concerning bleeding"
It was not a concerning amount of bleeding, and it has stopped. It was just more than I am used to, but based on your description it wasn't anything extremely out of the ordinary. Thank you for this, I really don't trust myself (especially with this kind of stuff) but it helps know it's not something that can be done by accident.
I bleed all the time because I have the manual dexterity of a toddler. Like maybe half the times I jab myself. It's gross and messy but nothing to worry about. The big veins you wanna avoid are on the inside of the thigh - you're much more likely to knick and go through a tiny blood vessel than to inject it into your blood system.
If you are real worried, you can do a little draw once the needle is in your leg (aspiration) - if you are in a blood vessel you'll draw up blood. Much more likely you'll draw up nothing. I usually don't bother doing this anymore though since it does increase the odds of moving the needle while inside and making it hurt more than it needs to.
