Electric or Acoustic? And are you interested in studying? I'm a former touring pro. I'd be super glad to give a few lessons to keep my chops up.
acoustic fingerstyle these days. thank you! I actually teach and gig already in my local area :D
Hells yeah! What kinda rig do you run? I go direct at this point, no more carrying amps around for me. My biggest dumbest rig was a Mess DC-5 and Marshall 36 watt.
if it is a small enough venue, usually playing my iris jumbo size guitar or gibson banjo with fingerpicks is sufficient for volume without any additional amplification. Otherwise just a single mic thru the pa system or i can use an external pickup if necessary. Haven't had too much issue with feedback or anything, really. Big reason i gravitate to acoustic instruments(have certainly dipped my toes into the electric world) is simplicity is comparatively nice, haha
Do you have a favorite go-to? I haven't seriously played guitar in years, but sometimes pick it up to play "Hocus Pocus" by Focus just to remind myself I know how.
Yodeling intensifies!
I dated a Dutch immigrant through high school, and Focus and Golden Earring were legitimately the best way I could connect with her parents.
Golden Earring fuckin rocks! I'll die before I say Radar Love isn't the shit.
I have all their albums, under rated band
The world is a ghetto.
John Fahey is my go to! He wrote a lot of stuff in open tunings that just bring me a lot of joy to interpret in different ways. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRyne6rjF1g here is a good one
