Alright this is curly hair specific, it's actually really stupid easy. You need:
scrunchies. I do not care who you are, these are required. Better distribution of force, don't automatically destroy curls. Death to hair ties, use these.
a good shampoo, maybe with some kind of oil. The kind I use is that "Aussie" Curly shit in the purple bottle, it has jojoba oil in it. That's what I like, you can see some other oils here. You can also use whatever old shampoo plus a bottle of pure oil if you want.
a decent moisturising conditioner, maybe with frizz control. I just use normal stuff personally, Idk what goes into a good conditioner.
a wide-toothed comb. You can get these anywhere, they make all the difference.
no hairdryer, death to hairdryers.
So basically normal shower, but go through your hair with the wide-toothed comb before you do anything. Then when you wash your hair, make sure to work that shampoo, or the oil also if you have it, deep into your scalp and let it sit a few minutes. Let your hair absorb that shit, it needs that good good oil. Same with the conditioner, let that shit sit a few minutes and soak.
By this point you will have realised that the wide-toothed comb is your new goddess and she smites all pretenders to divinity. Wide-set teeth will separate your hair into perfect curly tendrils and work tangles and knots out with little effort. Your hair will already be springy even when it's wet.
Even if you did the comb routine before you started washing, you want to run the comb through your hair while the conditioner is in. It's so silky smooth and glides right through.
After that you basically just need to towel-dry your hair. I tend to squeeze but not twist my hair over the tub to get excess water out, and then wrap it in a towel and leave that on for about ten minutes. If you want you can dry your scalp by getting a hairdryer with one of those skinny-funnel attachments on the end and pressing that to your head, I don't though.
Once it's dry the shiny, curly tendrils will be majestic and the wide-toothed comb will be your new religion, which is okay it's pretty nice. Forsake the brush. Brushes with their staggered bristles destroy curls and break hair, they are garbage. Use comb. You can also get specific shower combs with curved teeth and nubs on the end, I did not. There's a whole world of curly hair things though!
you are the best. thankyouthankyou
Np I wanna hear about how it goes if you try it!!
ayeaye, will report back. already ordered a wide tooth comb!
