Black is good for everyone, you can get different colours for hair colour. You can get white and that looks kinda cool - but black is the standard. The shape of the brush probably isnt a big deal for your first mascara, I use the big round full ones. I buy Nyx as the brand, it's more expensive though. Sometimes you need a lil brushy brushy for clumps - but also clumpy eyeliner is also in???? Gotta experiment with what you think looks good.
