Nordic countries taking their crusade against flavor to the next level.
The worst thing is that plenty of Scandinavian food is fantastic. Its just been memed by nationalists to be "pork meat" (so we can exclude Muslims) and by Americans to be "fish, bread and mayo lol" because they have no understanding of culinary culture that isn't slapping the same spice rub on every single dish and calling it a day. I made an effort post on this on an old account.
But then they do this shit and it's just the most WASP thing you can do. Crusade against flavor + "won't somebody please think of the children?"
What little Nordic food I've had has been pretty good so I have a decent opinion of it. On the other hand, I see Nordic people having consistently shit takes on food like "Korean fried chicken is too spicy, schnitzel is better" and I think that there's something deeply wrong with the people.

We probably are, but he doesn't just have "one" take. He's going thru the entire international community regional cuisine by regional cuisine. Dissing tacos, ramen, paneer and a whole bunch more. It's honestly impressive how he manages to be so wrong about food so consistently. I remember making my first bowl of Buldak 2x at work and crying. My coworker came over to check on me and I managed to stutter out "these are tears of joy, I have found my new favorite ramen."
I love it so much. It does not love me back. That is okay.
I like to put an egg or vegan cream substitute in the broth, helps a lot and gives a nice taste
They're not even that spicy. At this point I'm starting to suspect it's a gingers being immune to anesthetic or cilantro tasting like soap situation where we should stop making fun of them because it's an actual medical condition.

That sucks. These noodles are very tasty. Also the package openly advertises how extremely spicy they are so I am not sure if a ban was necessary.
Well according to one parent "all the other spicy foods aren't so spicy as to be dangerous, so it's wrong actually". Deeply embarrassing to admit that all the other spicy foods aren't spicy (if you think the regular spice packets are abnormally spicy, then I don't know what to say)
They literally tell you on the packet that if it is too spicy, you should use less of the spice powder. There's solutions that don't involve making flavour illegal.
It'll be another fifty years before Northern Europe is allowed to discover spices. Sad day

Very much so. ~~It's because a parent complained that their child ate one "with pink packaging" WHICH ISNT EVEN ONE OF THE SPICY ONES.~~ And now there's scores of parents applauding the initiative. I feel like a libertarian crying about a "nanny state".

I remember looking it up online and I believe the actual capsaicin levels were like 8000 for the regular but that there was just some funky chemistry that made them feel more spicy. Though I do feel like I might have made them spicier by forgoing making any broth and treating them more like an instant yakisoba.

It's not vegan though, it contains eggs. The chicken flavor is vegetarian though, at least.
Wait, really? I definitely buy them sometimes (not the pictured ones, the purple one, habanero ... something flavor?) and I know I checked ingredients. Did I really miss eggs? That seems unlikely, but I'll have to check carefully next time I see them.
I believe the noodles have egg involved, but it seems to vary regionally.

The 2x spicy ones are so much spicier than the "2x" would make you think, can't imagine the 3x spicy ones could possibly be any fun and I say that as someone who very regularly eats spicy food
The 3x one is instant pain on mouth contact hot, from someone who can eat 2x without issue.
Kinda tastes worse though, its fairly bitter.
Now I feel better. All these comments on Buldak not being spicy and I'm like, "am I really that weak?"

Growing up in a West Indian family that regularly used habanero peppers in the sauces and food we ate makes this the most alien thing I've ever read with my own two eyes.
Yeah it's wild to see the people saying this is a good thing. "Chilis just aren't suited for danish people!" I guess all the middle eastern people who emmigrated here can just get fucked then
