"Oh wow I can barely walk, I guess I should put some peanut butter on some toast or something"

[–] [email protected] 20 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

peanut butter toast, simple, yummy, filling! People keep thinking i'm wired when I tell them about pb toast, glad to see others talk about it.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

PB + banana (or honey if I'm out) is my go-to!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

Apparently Elvis enjoyed Peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwiches. I personally recommend bac'n bits. Real bacon makes the sandwich too greasy

Who doesn't think peanut butter toast is 'normal'? Where tf are you from?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Why turn eating into work?

A banana and a handful of nuts.

No cooking or smearing. No tools required. Just grab it and stick it in your hole.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Just grab it and stick it in your hole.

That's what.. Nah, even I have a "too easy" threshold sometimes 🤷

Nah, even I have a “too easy” threshold sometimes

That's what she said.

Who has that much time? Just put honey on some peanut butter on bread. Then some milk, for protein. Full meal (not really)!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

Just squirt the honey straight into your mouth! (or maple syrup in my case)

Fuck protein, want sugar!

And then I get a tummy ache and I'm still hungry.

"I am enraged at everyone and everything. I want to murder the next fucker that bothers me" is my signal that it's time to start eating for the day

Migraine alarm clock here. The ultimate painful reminder that I forget everything.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

But now I'm in too much pain to make something! Argh, sleep will fix that.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago

Excedrin, darkness, migraine cap and sleep. Only cure I have.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I hate it because it doesn't go away when I eat and hydrate for a long time, ough

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

Yes! Same here

This was me and my ADHD coworker... we never ate at noon - eventually (sometimes at like 430) one of us would turn to the other "You eat yet?" "Oh fuck, I forgot - let's grab something"

[–] [email protected] 38 points 3 weeks ago

Why is my stomach hurting? Did I eat anything that had gone bad? Oh wait.

[–] [email protected] 35 points 3 weeks ago

I just kind of graze all day.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 3 weeks ago

Tips! Many ADHD medications have the side effects of appetite suppression. Because of this, it can be a useful routine to eat something when you take your meds, to reduce the likelihood of going too long without food.

This goes doubly if you also have autism and/or other problems with interoception (knowing how your body is feeling/feeling hungry)

I didn't know this was tied to ADHD haha. Some days I'm all about food, but others I realize it's 7 PM and all I had was a scone all day. Today was such a day.

That's basically coke

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

I'm actually using complete meal replacement like jimmy joy or huel. If you're not too picky with taste, it can definitely help with a healthy diet, without much effort.

I'm also surprised how much effect really nutrition has on muscle build-up, as I gained just with this comparatively high protein diet quite a bit (without focusing on that specifically)

[–] [email protected] 25 points 3 weeks ago

got your 'time to eat' alarm set to vibrate eh

[–] [email protected] 19 points 3 weeks ago

It's handful of shredded cheese o'clock!

[–] [email protected] 19 points 3 weeks ago (5 children)

Maybe I don't have ADHD after all 🤔

[–] [email protected] 28 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

ADHD is also connected with increased rates of obesity. While some forget to eat, others can’t stop eating in that never ending search for dopamine.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

Easy solution: just start smoking

[–] janus2 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

i have the fat kid flavor of adhd where i eat all the time for the dopamines

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

what medicine are you on if you don't mind me asking?

[–] janus2 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

currently none because my insurance says i need something called a "prior authorization" which means i have to spend hours playing phone tag with my doctor first 🫠

I am hoping that amphetamine salts will help me not be bored-hungry all the time and help with motivation to get to the gym regularly. I miss being healthy :[

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

I think it has to do with the medicine. I'm on a less common ADHD medication and I don't get like this. Unless I'm working for some reason 🤷‍♀️

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I am assuming this is referring to medicated ADHD. Stimulates are often associated with decreased hunger. When I was on vyvanse I completely lost my sense of hunger and only went off my bloodsuger. Like "damn I feel dizzy and zombie like. Food time"

Big ol' box of tasty protein bars save me when this happens! I keep them around for when this inevitably happens.. which is often.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Meal replacements really helped me eat more consistently. I just chug one when i get to work at around 9am and another at 1pm to feel good until i eat dinner. I used to not eat breakfast and snack all day wich was definitely worse.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 weeks ago (5 children)

Which one do you use? I've been wanting to do something like this but they all seem kinda gross and expensive, I might try getting like a single bottle or a small pack though.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I tried all I could find, most gave me farts like hell and made me bloated all day. Basically all of them are overpriced BS with way too much sugar and a bloated marketing budget.

Not who you asked, but I liked Huel well enough that I'll be re-ordering it soon.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

I got soylent powder for about 4 years and i liked it. I switched to a canadian brand called sperri that use (i think) better ingredients and i like it a lot.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

I've been using Plenny Shakes for years and I haven't found anything better. They taste good and actually calm my stomach

I'm in this picture and I'd like it to be taken down!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago

Don't worry, you'll forget about it soon.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 weeks ago

Mmmm 😋 hypoglycaemia

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

Well, thanks for a reminder.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago

I wish I could go that long without eating.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, I got on medication 7 years ago and have gained almost 20 kg.
