Yeah, it sure was a man's world back the-

Wait, is that supposed to be Jackie Robinson? Jackie Robinson had no ceilings on his dreams?

And who's that next to - SIR I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR DREAMS ARE BUT I NEED YOU TO RETURN THE BABY

[–] [email protected] 62 points 10 months ago

Albert Einstein famously emigrated to the United States because there were no limits placed on him.

[–] [email protected] 49 points 10 months ago

That second one is the dream of white men everywhere, to own black slave babies. Thank goodness Hillary Rodham Clinton shattered that possibility. If she hadn't come around we'd still have white men with their little black slave babies running around terrorizing society.

The second bit made me spit cereal over both of my monitors lmao.

This is just the saddest copium. Like, something similar for Obama would at least make sense. Regardless of politics or how one feels about his politics, major color barrier broken with him becoming president, lots of implications for the politics of race as a result. Oversimplified, but that’s kids books for you. Can’t expect a book on civics for eight year olds to be gramsci-level deep.

This doesn’t work for Hillary because she lost. There were no glass ceiling broken, she faceplanted on it twice. We don’t construct mythologies around the almost-theres, the person before the person who hit the mark. So this is trying to create the feeling of a Hillary victory that never happened.

Ah yes, it wasn't the collective efforts of suffragettes all around the world protesting and putting their lives on the line. It was all Hillary.

[–] [email protected] 51 points 10 months ago (1 children)

And fuck every accomplished woman before her by the way.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Also, thanks for nothing black people who could do whatever they want without consequences.

screaming thinking about all the women who fought killed and died for a better world. HOW IS THIS NOT DEEPLY MISOGYNISTIC? all women were wittle babies who were too scared to fight the patriarchy until Hillary saved us.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 10 months ago

Its MASSIVELY misogynistic. That panel completely erases any women's struggle that ever existed anywhere, and replaces it with a woman who never struggled or aided in the struggle for anyone. She was actively against struggle. She campaigned for Barry Goldwater, the anti-civil rights act/pro nuking Vietnam guy in 1964.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, second wave feminism just didn't happen ig

[–] [email protected] 29 points 10 months ago

patriarchy was actually solved by a precocious little girl who went on to marry a sexual predator

[–] [email protected] 59 points 10 months ago (3 children)

The only PoC shown are entertainers or a child being abducted by a colonizer (?) jesus-christ

[–] [email protected] 35 points 10 months ago (3 children)

I think that's supposed to be Mao between Einstein and the guy wearing the pith helmet

[–] [email protected] 39 points 10 months ago

Along came Mao mao-wave

[–] [email protected] 29 points 10 months ago

Good catch - a grand total of three non-white people who had "no ceilings on their dreams" lmao

Also the implication here is that those entertainers didnt face discrimination and had an easy time making their way in that field.

this made look up the wiki page on Women in STEM and the entire page goes real hard at avoiding showing how this is a western phenomenon transmitted via colonialism through a pretty severe lack of geographic analysis.

the talk page has its "boys like X and girls like Y, it's just hormonal" assholes and then someone pointing out how the disparity is almost non existent in former eastern bloc countries and women participation in engineering and physical sciences was very high during the decades of the USSR ("did soviet women just have more testosterone then? seems unlikely.", leading to a complete meltdown about how the USSR was the most brutal repressive state in the history of this guy's mind palace.

but the worst problem is how i just knew it was going to be like this. i fucking hate this. i'm going to literally find a set of statistics and map this shit, because i am so fucking over the constant portrayal of this as some inscrutable mystery for patriarchal shitheads to pontificate their little misogynistic pet theories about.

sorry this has very little to do with the image.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 10 months ago (1 children)

the USSR forced women to do intellectual labor it was a repressive state with many hierarchies and spoons

[–] [email protected] 28 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Under EVIL Soviet Communism women were forced to be big spoon

No one had it better in the 50's than black athletes and musicians

[–] [email protected] 30 points 10 months ago (1 children)

or what appears to be Mao Zedong, an abducted and trafficked African baby and Albert Einstein (jew who fled Germany and had family die in the holocaust)

[–] [email protected] 29 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They all had it easy compared to Hillary. Imagine being born into an affluent white family in the 50's

Affluent white women in the 50s were truly the gamers of their time. The most oppressed class indeed.

Dear American comrades, please don't think this shit is a US exclusive. We have those insane books here in Krautland too:

It was a fucking bestseller and they made a movie out of it. However since 2022 Merkel's image has dropped significantly since she wasn't tough enough on Russia and only cared about the economy lol.

Westerners are the most propagandized people in the world.

Hilary acting more oppressed than what appears to be Mao Zedong, an abducted African baby, a black entertainer and athlete, Albert Einstein who fled the Holocaust and had family die in it... it just shows how vacuous non-intersectional white feminism is. Yeah, the real problem in our world was that women could not be ghouls and psycho CEOs and imperialist generals - but that's been fixed now for the most part so America is great!

[–] [email protected] 39 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I feel like "along came Hilary" is perfect for a meme template.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 10 months ago

Also @[email protected] little Hilary makes good emote material.

[–] [email protected] 39 points 10 months ago (2 children)

To be fair, no one destabilized Libya like Hillary did.

whos goddamn black baby is that?

[–] [email protected] 27 points 10 months ago

Yeah kinda jumped to my face as well, like where the fuck did he stole that baby

[–] [email protected] 38 points 10 months ago

Along came Hillary, national-mourning-period hillary-assassin

[–] [email protected] 35 points 10 months ago

Along came a woman who's entire political career was based on being married to a more successful man.

She broke no barriers herself, and supported no one in breaking any. She campaigned for the anti-Civil Rights guy in 64.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 10 months ago

Hillary jumpscare

[–] [email protected] 33 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Along came Hillary, and she made a lot of powerful friends in that man's world that while character assassinating anyone that opposed that man's world in a way she didn't like. Some of those powerful friends sometimes took especially young people to a magical island. epstein
