Imperialism's co-opting of progressive causes might be the most insidious and evil propaganda these fucks try.

They spent decades exterminating queers in the West only to use them for propaganda for the same bloodthirsty machine that once killed them. Disgusting.

co-opting of progressive causes

It's all just micro-targeting. The folks actually running the imperial project in Israel are going to give these guys the Night of Long Knives treatment sooner or later.

They're marginally to the right of DeSantis

They spent decades exterminating queers in the West

And they're going to get right back to it, as soon as they're done with the Arabs.

Exactly, well said

You ever think about how black culture is simultaneously pervasive over the entire world, foundational to memes, slang, food, musicx999, sports, and cinema but it's also so highly correlated with poverty and being underneath someone's heel? It's like how can the creators of some of the world's most prodigious cultural products not also be held in esteem and abundance?

I don't mean to ~~equivocate~~ imply these are equal or imply queerness doesn't dwell in the same areas. On the contrary I'm sure you could talk at length about the intersection. It seems like the blood thirsty machine has a pattern to it.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 8 months ago

It's true, all marginalised groups are brought under the boot, squeezed for their worth and then disposed of. Evil system.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 8 months ago (1 children)

While it is only something I read about once on an insomnia-bender, apparently electronic music, esp house, has its origins in that specific intersectionality. From what I remember, the post-disco evolution into house/techno was incubated in Queer-POC clubs.

I remember sharing Chicane's (presentation of? maybe some copyright issues?) Sun:Sets with a bi friend at work one time and they made an off-color joke about our sexual orientations. With that kind of context it makes a bit more sense.

If abortion rights aren't safe in yankeeland there's no reason to believe that lgbt rights will be safe either

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 months ago

But conservatives would never go against previously established court decisions! I know this because Brett Kavanagh, notorious sex pest and rapist, told me so.

How great is it that millions who had never heard these words before we enlightened by Martin Luther King's Faith... bravo Dodge, for using your spot to share words of Christian charity and grace.

I'm gonna fedposting

Some of us on the Left can be such snowflakes. I liked hearing the words of MLK during the Superbowl, during the Trump regime.

Regime? Sir, this is a DEMOCRACY. We call it an "administration."

I'm more and more convinced this was done as a deliberate act of evil. The audio comes from the same speech where MLK Jr says advertising in America is evil because it distorts the values of poor people. He even mentions advertisements for cars. This has to be on purpose

It really makes my blood boil in a way no other propaganda does. It's one thing to just encourage the most vile and selfish members of the population to support imperialism, but trying to redirect people's empathy and turn it into a weapon of control against them? It's just so damn evil. There's no other word for it.

[–] [email protected] 99 points 8 months ago

They can't even get married in israel wtf

[–] [email protected] 83 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Israel doesn't even actually have gay marriage, does it?

[–] [email protected] 83 points 8 months ago (4 children)

No, and whenever you point out to libs that neither Israel nor Palestine recognize same-sex marriage, they'll write a fucking novel about how much better it is to be LGBTQ+ in Israel.

[–] [email protected] 70 points 8 months ago

wojak-nooo gay people can't get married in Israel, but that's fine because they can easily get married in other countries and Israel recognizes it

smuglord gay people can't get married in Palestine and that's because they're uncivilized and barbaric

[–] [email protected] 61 points 8 months ago

Yeah, life is generally better living in stolen land rather than getting your land stolen, who would've thought?

[–] [email protected] 27 points 8 months ago

they'll write a fucking novel about how much better it is to be LGBTQ+ in Israel.

How do they react when you tell them that it is even better to be LGBTQ+ in France, Sweden, (the less openly fascist parts of) the US, etc. where the settlers comes from?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

there was one that went on a huge rant about what they call marriage isn't even ackshully what we in the west call marriage, so it's disengenuous to even compare them.

pinkwashing all day long

[–] [email protected] 20 points 8 months ago

Israel doesn't even recognize marriage between Jews and Muslims

[–] [email protected] 73 points 8 months ago

I hope his fiancee lives in a country that has legalized gay marriage because Israel sure as hell isn't going to recognize it unless one of their countries does.

[–] [email protected] 65 points 8 months ago (1 children)

How long before they declare anti-Zionism to be homophobic, too?

[–] [email protected] 32 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Seems like that's the implication of any argument framed around how liberal Israel is compared to its neighboring countries. It was the carrot they used before the stick of passing that resolution calling anti Zionism anti semitism

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

I don't think any of the surrounding countries do apartheid or have miscegenation laws. How liberals can say it's the most progressive country in the region is bonkers. The closest thing I can point to is Saudi Arabia's genocide of Yemenis (Which is backed by America) and Turkey's genocide of Kurds (Turkey is in NATO). Israel is still wildly right wing even in comparison to places like Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, etc.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 months ago

The “Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law” prohibits Israeli citizens who marry Palestinians from the occupied West Bank or Gaza Strip, or nationals from several other regional states, from living with their spouse in Israel.

“The law affects tens of thousands of Palestinian families on both sides of the Green Line between Israel and the West Bank, preventing Palestinians from legally moving into Israel to join their spouses,” according to Adalah, an advocacy group that has mounted unsuccessful court challenges to the law.

Goddamn jesus-christ that's the kind of shit people did to try and prevent my parents from having me. They're afraid of the mixed race communist

[–] [email protected] 52 points 8 months ago

Free love for all

Unless, of course, you're doing miscegenation. We can't risk soiling the purity of the Jewish blood just because you happen to like someone of an inferior race.

[–] [email protected] 48 points 8 months ago

Free love for ALL, you say?

[–] [email protected] 47 points 8 months ago

Wow, that would change my opinion on Israel if I utterly lacked an understanding of materialism.
