The other point I want to throw out there is that Omega 3 is essential, it cannot be endogenously provisioned, and I'm not sold that ALA sufficiently stands in for EPA and DHA

Couple thoughts

  • can you make your earlier meals (I guess maybe lunch since you're nauseous in the morning) bigger and have a smaller dinner? (larger meals later at night disrupt sleep and your body is more liable to store them as fat as opposed to during the day when you're usually more active before and after eating so you have a chance to burn it off? Apparently its best to stop eating around 4 hours before bed so however close you can work that it would probably only help things

  • do you feel the need to sweeten most things? Can you get by sticking to things like cream cheese, butter, guacamole, peanut butter, salsa/marinara, stevia or natural mild sweeteners like mixed berries as opposed to concentrated pure sugars like jams/honey/sugar?

  • ever tried unsweetened coconut or almond milk for cereal? I swear coconut (particularly the Vita Coco 1L tetra pack of original coconut milk beverage) is the closest to perfect substitute for milk and it has a decent amount of satisfying fat without all the sugar and other unknowable stuff in milk.

I'll add to this later but those were some initia thoughts. One of the big takeaways is fat is not bad or to be avoided as it satisfies and makes you need to snack less and sugar is generally more for energy to a level few of us actually need outside of the usual addiction to it

I've watched videos with Palestinians lamenting the good old days when they had a job that was either in Israel or with an Israelli firm that paid much better and it makes me really question whether this is about religion or past stuff at all. I wonder if all Palestinians who are offered a better life thru gainful employment and modern peaceful lifestyle with the modern amentities wouldn't warm to the idea of a pluralistic and perhaps closer to 1-state solution altho I also understand where the Israelis are coming from in terms of not wanting the muslim baggage and ongoing concerns that creates.

Religions that create such a conviction that there's another better life you can arbitrarily access if you do violence in your god's name are inherently antithetical to modern life and cohesion so I get that they would be reluctant if it came to that. There would very likely be a non-zero number of civillian deaths and incidents that would immediately be blamed on any unification

A two-state solution? Palestine is objectively less-developed and economically-developed than Israel, I don't think its realistic there's going to be a "river to the sea free of israel" type situation. Not sure whether thats what is actually being advocated for but it also seems like a point that keeps coming up over and again as I read about this.

If Israel had a far more moderate government where the leader wasn't criminally compromised, do you think it would be possible to come up with some good enough good-faith joint effort to relieve some of the tension points and allow for change?

I swear, I get the vibe from my cats that

  • they're my daughters
  • one i get the vibe from that she's my old lady (which literally she is but the wife connotation is highly questionable)

What is the relationship in the felid mind? I've never gotten the sense that I'm a "master" despite the fact they know when I get annoyed with them or what is forbidden and they mostly come to honor that (turns out nobody or anything likes getting hassled)

EDIT: I'm interested in how a free Palestine would play out in terms of what that would mean for women, gays, children, people of non-muslim religions, in terms of personal freedoms, etc. For the average citizen/denizen what would that look like?

^This is a continuation of my series on emotions and self-knowledge^

Anxiety

Anxiety is the dread over expected harmful events. From an evolutionary perspective, increased anxiety serves to increase vigilance to potential threats in the environment as well as increase the tendency to take proactive actions regarding such possible threats. The body often mobilises itself to meet the perceived threat: Muscles become tense, breathing is faster, and the heart beats more rapidly.

I've heard very good things about high-EPA/decent DHA fish oil thats molecularly-distilled.

This seems to be a frequent recommendation (particularly if you don't eat seafood or fish) in many health circles and I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on best products, practices, etc.

Anguish

Anguish can be defined as the discomfort resulting from the consideration of an overwhelming number of valid choices.

Hoping for current personal things as opposed to past stuff but if you have nothing current feel free to retrospect

(Descending) modulating songs

Also if you have any comments on Strawberry Fields Forever would love to hear them!

  • Layla - Eric Clapton (i've heard mentioned)

Looking for something I can use to wear to have audio from bluetooth that doesn't get in the way as a side-sleeper

I'd like to do a series on 56 different emotions which we'll eventually get through as time permits.

Anger

Anger is an intense emotion defined as a perceived provocation, the invasion of one's boundaries, or a threat. From an evolutionary standpoint, anger serves to mobilize psychological resources in order to address the threat/invasion. Anger is directed at an individual of equal status.

Try to keep it fresh by what is current but its also cool to retrospect
