He got woke on trans rights before I was even out to him. One day he noticed all the Blairites in the local CLP were all pushing a similar line on trans people (a really shitty TERF one). If a Blairite told him water was wet, he'd ask for a second opinion. So he read around, and talked to trans people, and got a more informed view mostly in an attempt to call them out on their bullshit.

I'm just in awe of the man becoming a more supportive parent accidentally in his mission to spite liberals.

You're very lucky, if only all parents were as willing to deepen their understanding of marginalised groups, it would make it a lot easier for all.
