Does anyone else like certain names, but you choose not to take them because someone you know also has that name and it would be weird?
I picked a name I loved but I remember a girl in high-school had it. I figured "eh what are the chances we'll meet ever again" before having to move back to my hometown where she has stayed. Haven't actually met face to face yet though
Yep. I really liked my sister's name, but for obvious reasons I didn't take it.
Does it count if I chose not to take the name because I knew someone called that and hated her?

Itβs not any of my friends, but there is a girl who was childhood/family friends with my family growing up and my sister and mom still talk and do things with her and her mom quite a bit, so itβd be weird.
fwiw even tho I've joked about it, I like the name you go by. it's a nice short and sweet name

I had that exact issue but to make it worse the other woman with that name recently died. I went with a different one.
