It's important to read conservatives

Actually, no, it isn't.

It's important to read Hitler hitler-detector i-am-adolf-hitler

It is important. It really demystifies that fuck. Lot of unfinished lists and run-on sentences. Hard to believe someone followed a man with such incoherent writings. Still not as poorly written as The Fountainhead, though.

Still not as poorly written as The Fountainhead, though.

Atlas Shrugged takes what went wrong there and expands upon it in just about every way it could possibly be worse, especially that notorious pretentious speech that because of fiction magic captivated all of society instead of boring and annoying them 2% into its run.

We need to read conservatives, but the left are a bunch of loons who deserve to be marginalized.

The bookstore always has conservative NY Times best sellers but I haven't been able to find a copy of Blackshirts and Reds, Inventing Reality, Settlers, or even Manufacturing Consent. I love living in a place where Hitler has protected free speech but leftists get soft-censored.

With all the attention the left gets from libs you'd think they're the ones writing project 2025

insisting one need to deliberately expose oneself to conservative thought, read conservative articles, consume conservative media, etc, is the most overt confession to dim wittedness and/or affection, I swear.

you could live in a cave for 20 years and know what conservatives want and pencil out 3-4 talking point strategies they are using to make it happen.

That's why Jordan Peterson fanboys insist you must consume tens of hours of his crocodile-teared misogynistic ramblings before you are even allowed to form an opinion about him, and if you form the wrong opinion clearly you didn't understand his timeless universal truths. up-yours-woke-moralists

I feel like one of the core tenets of liberalism is an ultimate lack of belief and confidence in your own creed. Always assuming that inherently you're wrong and working as if you were wrong

Rana Plaza collapse

The Rana Plaza collapse (also referred to as the Savar building collapse or the collapse of Rana Plaza) occurred on 24 April 2013, when the eight-storey "Rana Plaza" commercial building collapsed due to a structural failure. The rescue team's search ended on 13 May 2013, with a confirmed death toll of 1,134. Approximately 2,500 injured people were rescued from the building. It is considered as one of the deadliest structural failures in modern human history, as well as the deadliest garment-factory disaster in history, and the deadliest industrial accident in the history of Bangladesh. Amnesty International called this "The most shocking recent example of business-related human rights abuse."

Matty wrote this.

Different Places Have Different Safety Rules and That’s OK

Then Matty followed up with a non-apology apology.

Some further thoughts on Bangladesh.

April 26, 2013

It seems like the entire Internet has registered its objections to this piece I wrote on the Bangladesh factory disaster. And I have to say that my overwhelming personal response, as a writer and as a human being, is to be annoyed by the responses that I’m getting.

Why can't I see the replies to this tweet? The ui says there's two hundred of them but I don't see any.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I don't have a Twitter account. Did Elon create some kind of weird "visible to followers only" setting?

Xcancel had visible comments but now there's only one - ~3h old.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I have an account but it doesn't say it a setting like that is in effect.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Maybe blue checks have special settings?
