Plant based diets certainly have a much lower risk of food born illness, but it's definitely still possible to get food poisoning from rice that's been left out on the counter, or from lettuce that hasn't been thoroughly washed, just to name two examples. Don't let this be an excuse to be unsafe in the kitchen.

Take B12. :vegan-edge:
When I was first dating my partner we shared a green mango salad and both got food poisoning. Each of us nearly shitting our beds later that night was a real bonding experience, a milestone in our relationship. Even food poisoning is better when you're vegan.
But yes I agree
Composting is also a lot easier. Everything goes in the pile, easy
Also trash and recycling for that matter. Yes it can still get gross, but it happens a lot slower and the worst is way less bad than say crab night or dairy/egg that's gone off.
And it’s one of the best aspects. All of a sudden the logistics of food make sense again. It’s not out to get you or fragile. It’s just there to be eaten.
oh no I undercooked my tofu shrug
Odd how washing cutting boards eliminates this problem.
Series of bad posts coming from Australia I see.
Demanding the mods here start charging tariffs on foreign imperialist posts like they make me do. I have to borrow money from friends to post on here now.
Vegan food also stays edible for far longer, and I'm not even talking about dry goods like lentils or beans.
solidarity but you should still be careful with rice left out for too long. it's a powerful medium for stuff to grow in.
Yeah I used that shit for growing mushrooms and it spreads extremely quickly.
It’s a vegetarian perk as well, but definitely true. I’m not proselytizing or being obnoxious about my eating habits but it does give me a little rush of inner smugness and sense of superiority every time there is some outbreak or food scandal, because it is virtually always about meat and I don’t have to worry.
