Been a little bit, but my sites got updated with the fall and late summer dresses so I got some new ones to gush about

Dressposting #3Today's dress is Bramble Rose's Magical Grass Fragrance Garden!

This one is just, utterly stunning. The concept is a pretty typical one, being a garden theme with lots of rose motifs, but I love how they used green ribbons as an accent colour to imply the flower stems instead of sticking with the blue. It adds a lovely sense of naturalism to it that I really like. Plus they actually have colour options if you really want to have it with just the blue or pink, which is really nice.

Personally I prefer it in the blue/green, but the pink/pink is really cute too! I also love its detachable sleeves, they look so poofy and nice, and when they're detached the dress still works incredibly well which is great since a lot of other dresses can sometimes have issues with the sleeves feeling empty without the extensions.

The dress is also just so incredibly detailed, from the beautiful embroidery to the pearls and differently layered fabrics giving it tons of texture. It looks incredible from up close. I also think this pic shows just how pretty the green and blue looks, particularly on the choker. Like if I could buy just the choker I absolutely would in a heartbeat.

yess return of the dress posting. I'm partial to the pink, but both are really pretty

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Yeah I took a break for a bit because I've been so busy. Also doesn't help that most of the dresses that I really wanted to talk about I also wanted to buy, and I didn't want to create competition for myself since I buy and post about low-supply chinese indie brand stuff. But now that there's a good selection of new stuff I got like 2-3 more dresses to post about for a bit, and probably more will come by the time I'm through those.

Also really cool that you like the pink more! It's definitely very pretty too and of the monos I like it more, but what drew me to the dress was the green ribbons and imo the pink/green looked the worst of the four since the specific shades clashed a bit, so I prefer the blue/green overall.

The dresses you post are always super cuuute! I just wish those styles looked good on me lol πŸ™ƒ

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They could! There's a lot of variance in lolita styles and sizes and I guarantee you I could find something that would work on your body shape

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Mmm i really want to believe you, but my 195+ body really struggles to fit things, and theres certain styles that to me seem almost reserved for the shorter folks (though that could just be brainworms ig).

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Lolita has a lot of plus size options from various brands, and the cupcake shape of the dresses is still able to work very well and that's one of the main aesthetics rather than hourglasses and other slim figures like so many other femme fashion styles.

Random example from Pinterest

Lolita does definitely have an association with the petite due to its emphasis on cuteness and how smallness connects to that, and a lot of loli brands can be hard to find in larger sizes on account of japanese standard sizes being smaller in general, but lolita also has a very big plus size audience and market. Hell Lacemarket, the main english lolita reselling site, is usually full of plus options and other larger sizes.

And in case you're tall and I misunderstood, there's a lot of full length skirts out there that you could wear too rather than short ones, plus some brands have skirt length options when ordering to account for that, and that's ignoring the custom orders you can get from indie brands. Also just in general, lolita as a style hides a lot of your natural body shape since so much of it is in the shaping of the pieces.

Unfortunately I'm personally small so I mostly don't look into plus options, but if you look into it I guarantee you could find dozens of threads and blogs on them considering how often I see them while looking for lolita stuff in general. I have looked into some of the height options before though since I'm taller than most cis women even if I'm not super duper tall.

cat-trans this is really nice lea-blush

And yeah i was meaning height, im a touch over 195cm which is sometimes great but sometimes aubrey-pain

My interest is growing from just "this looks so cute" to "wait maybe i could fit something" and my wallet is cowering in fear.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Of course, anytime care

Funnily enough the dress I was planning on covering next is from one of the brands that does custom lengths and sizings...

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

Omg i look forward to it!!!

Yesss!! I love that you tagged me lmao.

I love the blue version. It reminds me of blue hydrangeas. My favorite flower.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

[–] Grimm 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It really is stunning, I think my dress envy arc is starting.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Noooooooooooo, please don't read these if they make you feel envy, I'd feel terrible if I made you feel bad that way.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

Its a good kind of envy, the kind that makes me excited to be trans. This isn't the bad feeling envy at all.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

I don't know if I like the green/blue or pink/pink the most.

dysphoria

God I wish I could look good in a dress like that.
