I had to stay late
Last night shift went off the rails, way too busy. The kids aren't even back in school yet, it should not be respiratory season
I work at a school. It's respiratory season year around now.
It's honestly kind of wild. We had hib and strep randomly pop up in May/June, sure they're still in school and daycare but that's well outside traditional respiratory season. Plus they'd come in okay and then just decline decline decline so fast, which is a thing for kids but more than usual (they don't have as much abiliry to compensate until closer to adulthood and they just dont have as much internal stores of whatever)
The only thing that's changed is covid, I can't think of anything else that just made seasonality start to vanish.
It's definitely covid's fault, sickness is a year-round thing now.
Since getting covid, I've been sick constantly. I have symptoms that I've never had before like fevers or coughing up mucus.
I really resent that I can't avoid it. I'm just gonna keep getting it multiple times a year.
