There's a "spot" that has a lot of tissue that's convenient, it's not like you have to hit that spot or else it doesn't work.
When I've done injections for very skinny people, we use what we can get, fuck the spot diagrams. I've given insulin in a calf cause that had the most subq tissue at the time.
You just don't want it to go all the way to your muscle (different absorption rate, different pharmacokinetics in general) or in your actual cutaneous tissue/skin. Use whatever you can get a hunk of in your hands or stick with the much more convenient outer thighs and belly zones.
Also, what do you mean by it working this week? Like you're feeling off in terms of emotions/thoughts? Or like, you thought you should develop more in just one week?
Okay. So I pinch it between my fingers the same way you do with the stomach then, right?
Yeah, you're just gathering up enough tissue to get the needle in without going too far.
Butt is kinda hard to do solo which is why we say not to do self-admin there, but you could so long as you're confident I guess.
I'm not. But I'll manage.
Oh, you're supposed to have someone else do your injection? I didn't know that, the diabetics in my life do their own injections so I thought doing injections yourself was standard.
In their butt? That seems hard to reach for most people comfortably while being able to see what you are stabbing.
Most self-injections I think are in the thighs and stomach from my understanding. Maybe also deltoids with IM using autoinjectors?
I thought she said here, meaning where she works or this mega. (eepy)
Yea I have no idea how I could do an injection in my butt.
Time to innovate
If you're gonna do your butt someone else should probably do it, it's awkward as you already have surmised. Or the back of your arm, super common spot to do on someone else (less burning/pain usually) but quite difficult to get your own arms arranged in a way you can do it.
If you do it alone, belly and outer thigh are the easiest to reach and watch and verify as you're doing it and all those zones tend to have adequate subq tissue.
Interesting, I wouldn't have thought about arms. My arms have very little extra on them.
Sounds good, that's the plan.
