Downward Left Arrows Inside a Circle: Symbol associated with anti-fascist anarchists with the arrows representing unity, activity, and discipline.

Critical support to whoever fed them that bs as their plea bargain

[–] [email protected] 13 points 11 months ago

Really funny that they include "originally designed to cover swastikas" there, and "antifa stands for anti-fascist" elsewhere, and no one at the FBI even blinks.

FBI Chairman: Antifa are the real fascists.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 11 months ago

It has fascist right there in the name!

[–] [email protected] 47 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Oh you have these too. It wasn't that long ago that I read a similar classification of terrorism on the webpage of my countrys public health (an offive of health and welfare) of all places and they had listed "extreme left" as one form of extremism.

They then went on to state that this leftist "terror" tends to be non-violent, but I don't know... both-sidesing is a helluva drug it seems.

[–] [email protected] 36 points 11 months ago (1 children)

both-sidesing is a helluva drug it seems.

Today MSNBC is doing something totally unlike them. They're having on "reasonable" house republicans to try to explain the mess the republicans made of half of congress. It's insane level of both sides-ing because these "reasonable" GOP are the sorts of people that in the next hour could go on Fox News and say how the 2020 was "stolen" from Trump. They are just as fascist as the "maga wing" and always put themselves and their party above country.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 11 months ago

always put themselves and their party above country

Edging a little close to the lib β€œAmerica isn’t like this”

[–] [email protected] 10 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Do you have a link to this? I want to see some brainworms.

Funny how they always have to do the both sides shit, when was the last time there was left-wing violence in Finland? Maybe something minor may have happened in the 70s at a push.

fidel-salute

lol: The violent extreme right: they organize violent protests, assault people and destroy property

The violent extreme left: anarchists and antifascists who mostly post stuff online

These two things are surely worthy of being listed alongside each other galaxy-brain centrist They didn't even bother to come up with an example of leftists being violent (mostly because that doesn't really happen unlike fascist violence), just that they mostly do stuff online, but that's apparently enough to call them the violent extreme left.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 11 months ago

It's pretty amazing. Imagine my feels as I stumbled upon this while reading some of their covid minimizing things on the site. It's like brainworms on brainworms, nobody can claim this joint isn't pushing for the most neoliberal status quo bs ever. They be "apolitical" too. Lol

[–] [email protected] 44 points 11 months ago (8 children)

US anarchists confuse me. The ones I've met weren't impressive and didn't seem like they were capable of much, and yet the federal government is completely terrified of them and treats them like an ISIS terror cell.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 11 months ago (1 children)

They had one effective terror campaign a century ago and these days they dare to feed the homeless. That's pretty much it

I’m of the opinion that the feds don’t actually understand the principles of communism or anarchism. I’ve seen people ask the question here about β€œdo you think some of the feds / deep state folks are actually really well versed in Marxist theory?” and I really think they aren’t. I have never seen a right winger be able to correctly articulate the principles of Marxism, even when they seem to genuinely try and study it to critique it (I’m talking about people like the Austrian economists). I don’t think they’re distinguishing between anarchists, communists, et al other than β€œscary lefties who want to destroy society and make everyone equal” or whatever.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 11 months ago

I'm currently getting a degree in political science, and while there are definitely Marxists in the field, doing Marxist analysis (usually under the labels Political Economy, or World Systems Theory, everyone nods and agrees with Marxist analysis, as long as you don't call it that), my university happens to be associated with a nearby air force base, and is therefore swarmed with ghouls who wanna be CIA agents, and shit.

The amount of PHD's who's area of expertise overlaps with Marxism, but who knows nothing about it except for the shit they hear from the base (ie, east Asia "experts"), is agonizing.

I had a professor try to tell me Bourgeoisie still meant Middle Class, and that Marxism asserted a class above them which controlled everything, that he couldn't define when I pressed him on it....

I remember watching a documentary about that guy who famously gamed some McDonalds promotion and it included interviews with the actual FBI agent that had been called to investigate it. They agent spoke like an absolute idiot. Seriously he had the air of a 13 year old frat boy.

I absolutely agree that the feds don't actually understand politics. They're just dog brained assholes that never grew out of their high school bully phase and have enough tools to make their job idiot proof.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 11 months ago

have enough tools to make their job idiot proof

This is really it at the federal level, especially with investigations into political groups. You have tons of resources and access to information, and the ongoing nature of what you're investigating means you can take however much time you need to build your case (contrast this with, say, solving a murder that has already been committed). The DOJ works with you from the jump to make sure you're getting what you need for court. When you get to court, you're dealing with lengthy federal sentences so your defendants have tons of incentives to make a deal.

If you really fuck up and there's a newsworthy crime you theoretically could have prevented, that's spun as you needing more power/resources next time around.

Keep the citizens and politicians scared to keep the funding up. It's what the joint chiefs is doing with China.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 11 months ago

just force of habit i guess

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago

the state maintains a view of the world that justifies the excesses of power. anarchists want to Abolish Everything Now, and therefore provide a convenient reason to treat the population like enemy combatants.

I am curious if they have something like this for Nazis.

I am even more curious if this thing has ever been used to charge Nazis with anything

[–] [email protected] 35 points 11 months ago

Hey at least they recognized the USA flag as a terrorist symbol

[–] [email protected] 32 points 11 months ago (2 children)

I want the feds to write explanations for the entire Hexbear emaji catalogue.

hammer-sickle Hammer and sickle: Used to represent communism

amerikkka Burning American flag: Used to express anti-American sentiment

standards Smiling watermelon: Fruit-related extremism/crime, I guess?

chicken-bop Dancing chicken: ???

An Andy Ngo tweet...

Thank you for reporting on this. The Antifa cell in southern California being prosecuted by the San Diego DA's office on felony violent conspiracy charges used some of these symbols when they carried out an attack. Several have been convicted already and a trial is set for the remaining suspects.

In Georgia, 61 suspects from all over the country have been charged with RICO, domestic terrorism and/or money laundering charges in connection with a violent series of attacks that also featured some of the Antifa symbols in the FBI document.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 11 months ago

The San Diego case is such trumped up bs

[–] [email protected] 25 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Remember when he said he got the shit beat out of him by anarchists? I’m pretty sure he was lying but I hope it was true.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 11 months ago

Obviously a total failure considering his continuing to breathe

[–] [email protected] 12 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Remember when he got hit with a milkshake and started speculating that maybe Antifa was putting quick-drying cement in milkshakes? Lmao.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 11 months ago

And then people went all over the internet demonstrating that antifascists holding drinks were actually drinking them, that quick drying cement would be dissolved by sugar, and that the videos of people preparing milkshakes tended to be instructions on how to make them vegan? Yeah, good times lol
