Welcome to c/electoralism! politics isn't just about voting or running for office, but this community is.

Please read the Chapo Code of Conduct and remember...we're all comrades here.

Shitposting in other comms please!

MODERATORS

put all of your election posting here so it doesn't bother anyone else!

from @[email protected]:

For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.

I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.

No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!

Kamala just said not to support parties but to support the Constitution and God. lmfao

I liked the part where she was like "As a prosecutor I saw people at their lowest" yeah they were at their lowest because you were sending them to prison for 10 years for dealing weed

Harris lost the popular vote, thereby losing to Trump even worse then Hillary fucking Clinton

It’s actually hilarious how much kammy has failed upwards. From getting absolutely roasted in the primary last time around to president in one cycle. Supporting genocide really takes you places in the USA

The midseason finale where Trump got shot and Biden dropped out was great, but everything since then has just been table-setting and I'm not sure the writers are going to be able to stick the landing. Kinda wish they'd just cancel the show already.

Libs are so fucking entitled. It’s the tritest of observations at this point, but I have to make it clear, I don’t think they understand the state of play here. If you take off the third parties I write them in. If you take out write-ins I drop in a voided ballot. If you chain me to a chair until I fill out a bubble I’m hobbling forward until I can eat the fucking ballot right off the desk. If you put a gun to my head I might do it but you’ll have to keep putting that gun next to my cranium every four years and eventually I’ll just take the damn bullet if this is going to be the eternity. My position is clear and I am unreceptive to haggling. You have to play around me. I am not moving. What are you going to do about it? Get fucking real. Stop metagaming and play the damn game.

The Uncommitted movement was bribed $400,000 from a Democratic Party PAC with the explicit agreement that in doing so it prevents the Uncommitted movement from endorsing anyone but Harris

US elections 2024: Uncommitted movement splits after taking money from PAC supporting Harris

You know in Mexico we have a word for this, its called corruption

Just put in my ballot for Claudia De La Cruz. Wrote in Joseph Stalin for all the local "entrepreneur vs cop" races, and voted appropriately on measures. Never gonna vote for a Democrat ever again.

Every so often I find myself thinking back and juxtaposing my current view of US electoral politics to how I felt on the day of the 2020 Nevada caucus. What a fucking radicalizing experience the 2020 primary was, and it becomes more and more radicalizing the longer time goes on and reveals to us none of it ever mattered.

Whose fault will it be this time? Russia? Iran? Palestine? China? Will the Dems just shrug their shoulders and say it's men or whites or farmers or whatever that are too sexist/racist/homophobic? It can never be their god awful strategies of offering black men crypto and weed, offering Arabs a Genocide Lite™ instead of Genocide Pro Max, offering nice deportation instead of evil deportation to Latinos, and offering nothing but scolding and contempt for poorer rural whites. There's much wrong with Americans, but the Democrats fucking suck at this.

Holy shit, Kamala is losing badly. I guess don't betray your voters, scold them and attempt to appeal to gusanos and white supremacist that will never vote for you.

What depresses me a bit right now is the fact that my feed on social media is full of posts from libs talking about resistance, organizing, hope. These are the same people that have been at brunch for four years straight, despite the genocide in Palestine.

And now I am painfully aware that all this is just posturing from them.

Bombing the Middle East and perpetrating Palestinian genocide that alienated the muslim vote

I should have stuck with my gut and what it’s been telling me for the last couple of years: The Republican Party is a cockroach and the Democrats won’t be “replacing” them. Anyone who believed that drank the liberal Kool-Aid because of one good election yet again.

Also you aren’t being thrown into camps Jesus Christ. Idk what it is with Americans and these fantasies. It’s a hell of a lot worse in Guatemala and even we aren’t doing that shit. You don’t get the exciting WW2-era doomer world. Instead you get a boring modern one where legislative action is taken away gradually, making it all much more normalized.

CNN has a map up right now showing counties where inflation has outpaced wage growth and vice versa. 5 counties have had wages grow faster than inflation.

Guys they might finally be putting the pieces together.

Slavery is winning 57-43 in California so far...

(Proposition 6: End Involuntary Labor by the Incarcerated › This proposition would amend the state Constitution to remove a provision that lets prisons and jails force inmates to work.)

Minimum wage and rent control are also losing. Increasing prison sentences is winning big.

It's early yet but if that's what it's like when Harris has 60% we're in trouble.

Edit: At 35% reporting, slavery's lead is down to 53-47.

From r/neoliberal

Just wanted to say to all of the lgbtq folks here. I am so sorry that we let you down. None of you deserve this. You deserve love and acceptance not hatred and bigotry.

I hope you all find your safe haven and are able to enjoy all the great joys that life affords us. I know what I'm saying doesn't change anything, but I hope that it's at least a small comfort in all of you knowing that you matter.

"Sorry I'm fucking useless at preventing anything bad from happening. I vote so I've done my part. All I can do now is apologize."

I can't be bothered to make a throwaway account to say specifically, but there was a ballot measure in my state that was the only thing I cared about. Something that would have done a lot of good, but it was voted down, and now otherwise preventable harm and suffering will be the result. I cannot express how fucking upset and angry I am. I truly have a deep loathing for Americans. Just the most selfish, incurious, puritan savages to ever blight the surface of the planet who would rather clutch their pearls than do anything that would help someone who isn't themselves. Death to fucking America.
