MODERATORS

Hey, we haven't been able to find a secure way to poll everyone yet, and I've really been itching to ask everyone this question so we can get updated numbers on our trans population here. This isn't going to be scientific or anything, but just a quick guess.

Please respond to this post with a 'yes', 'no', or 'maybe'. If you have anything to add, please use a spoiler tag below your answer like so:

spoilerhi!

Remember to respond even if you are cis.

No

spoilerI'm living as a cis guy, so ig I'm not, but I've been toying with the idea. I don't necessarily want to be seen as a guy and if I could press a button to be born different, I'd definitely give it a long think. But a maybe seems like it'd be giving me too much credit.

No. But a very soft no because I think I'd like being a woman just as well but pretty sure It's not reflective of gender that I present or feel? But no accounting at the moment should count me as gender diverse lol

I'm also a definite no, but I've always imagined that gender not being important to you comes with being cisgendered. Like, I've always been comfortable with the way I was born, so it's a lot easier for me to conceptualize being comfortable being born a different way than it is to picture being uncomfortable either way.

Typing this out now though, is this the same thing? Like I identify much more as someone who's content with how they were born than I do with being a man, the second thing just came along automatically with the first thing. Is there any reason people would distinguish between what I'm describing here and a cisgendered person who really values that they weren't born the wrong sex?

Maybe dumb questions, being honest I don't understand gender at all because I never feel any pressure to think about it.

spoilertransfem non-binary. still rather uncertain about identity, but the key tenets so far seem to be: reject man, embrace femininity. visible transfolk helped me realize my transness, including some here ๐Ÿ’•

spoilerIm some kind of genderfluid. (Is that what gender diverse is supposed to cover?)

[โ€“] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

respond even if *your cis

no

[โ€“] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago

Maybe, but little enough to probably say no.

I'm ostensibly straight and cis, and looking at my life you'd mostly assume that.

I have never felt super masculine, but that could be caught up with anxiety/ASD/ADHD shit. I've never felt like I belonged, so it's kind of hard to assess.

maybe

spoilerI pondered this heavily when I was introduced to TF media in my late 20s and early 30s. Came out with the decision that I'm a mildly gender nonconforming cis man. I don't feel any gender very strongly, but I don't know if that's just because masculinity is 'unmarked' in the culture I live in.
